Very friendly staff and a very nice entourage / atmosphere. We ordered a home made burger and chips and a traditional fried cod and chips. We shared the meals because both looked delicious and we felt like 'sharing'. We were right; both meals were freshly...More

After a long gap I revisited the Monkey House; better and better. The great change indoors has been to convert the second room entirely over to tables raher than having it part bar/part dining area. The acoustics are much improved with the absence of the...More

Visited at the beginning of June with my wife, son and his fianceé - twice, once on a Saturday night and then the following Friday. Great atmosphere enhanced by "Ian" owner or manager? He is quite a wag! This is quality cuisine, prepared by skilled...More

Very friendly and attentive staff, bringing you really very tasty and thoughtfully prepared food, in a pleasant pub atmosphere. Clearly busy, and for good reason.

Decent pub food and very friendly service. We had a table in 'the snug' which was perfectly servicable but lacked the atmosphere of the main bar/restaurant area. Would recommend asking to be seated there instead.

We went on the recommendation of a friend. And was he ever right. The three elements of restaurant quality - food, service & ambiance - were all excellent. We both started with beef bourgignon which was as good a pub dish as I can remember....More

The Monkey House is one of the last standing free houses in the picturesque seaside town of Lymington. A family run restaurant bringing all the elements of the classic British pub which everyone can enjoy; Home cooked food; Log fires and excellent service. Iain, Ruth, Georgia and Sophie would like to welcome you with open arms, whether it's for a quick bite to eat, a special occasion or maybe just even to socialise with some of the colourful personalities who reside in this charming town. The extremely talented head chef and his team prepare daily specials that will definitely tickle your taste buds. Not to mention Britain's favourite: the roast dinner every Sunday. To complement the 'bistro chic', relaxed atmosphere, the monkey house will be regularly hosting live musicians from around the local area. Anything from vintage classics to up and coming contemporary artists destined for the stars! The Robertson family will be delighted to see you, please come and see what they have to offer!
