A friend and I called into The Haven for a coffee and a Danish pastry and my friend had a bottle of water. It was the most expensive bottle of water she'd ever drunk at £2.75 and it was New Forest water, so it had...not travelled very far! My Danish pastry was fresh, the coffee good and the waitress friendly but the bill was silly money. I probably won't return, although the views are fabulous, except when the boats are being sprayed in the boatyard and occasional whiffs are blown upwards to the outside areas.More

Myself and a friend had a reservation over the Bank Holiday weekend. We enjoyed what was possibly the best moules we have had in a long time! The staff were very friendly and accommodating. They even had Shipyard on draught which accompanied my meal well....Overall excellent experience, a lovely restaurant with a great view of the Solent and a team that should be proud of the standard of service they provide. (They also played "The Flood" by the iconic band Take That on request)More

Wow what really superb food. Had some delicious olives and quite amazing houmous to start. Been to a few Middle East countries but this was the best we've had. Seabass and Indonesian curry for main courses. Peas with bacon and rocket with parmesan for sides....Seriously good. Lovely wine and local beer. Lovely views too and Lovely service. Nice and helpful but never too much. Totally worth a visit, even for a drink, and we can't wait to go back.More

We booked 2 months ahead and on the night of the booking received an email confirmation, followed immediately by an email cancellation?? we phoned and confirmed the booking. We arrived early, had a drink and then asked to be seated earlier than our booking at...one of they many free window tables and were told they were all taken by people who had booked ahead?? Then half way through our meal we watched a couple who had been seated at a table away from the windows, clearly ask to be moved to a window seat table for two… which was actioned…?? !! To be fair Millie the waitress was very polite but didn’t offer any discount, only apologies. We then went back the next night and sat outside, it was quite quiet inside and out with plenty of staff around, I walked in and advised we were sitting outside and was told that was fine as it was all table service … after a 15 minute wait…. we decided to spend our money elsewhere. Food was nice but once bitten twice shy, on the whole an unsatisfactory experience despite giving them a second bite of the cherry.More

The location and view were excellent. The food was good but the single vegetarian option seemed like an afterthought. The service was friendly but very reactive. We constantly had to attract the waitress's attention if we wanted anything. But we will come again and hopefully,...more than one vegetarian option will be available.More

We came and ate for lunch and we had oysters to start which were lovely and then the moules and crayfish linguini for mains. There was not a single fault with the food it’s was beautifully presented and was delicious. However our only niggle was...the staff, they didn’t seem happy to be there and everything you asked seemed to be a problem however, Allison who bought us our food was lovely, she served us with a smile and was very happy to help. Overall we had a lovely experience but most of the staffs attitude let us down.More

Booked online a table for 10.30 , one guest 15 mins late, asked for another breakfast and was rudely told no , asked again for just some toast and orange juice , again told no . Apparently the chef was overwhelmed, 1/3 full . Then...got told they shut at 11 so the staff can eat and we would literally be eating their breakfast if they gave her a plate . Total joke or a place . Advertise the rules or don’t accept bookings . If you can’t put toast and some bacon on and cook it in 10 mins maybe you need another profession Worst place to have breakfast , over priced and when it came it was not cooked well at all . One star is generous . AvoidMore
