Spring Tide offers a varied dining experience where the food receives mixed feedback; guests relish the delectable main courses and desserts, yet some are let down by less impressive fish and chips and overly tough meats. While the service is often commended for its attentiveness and friendliness, it's marred by occasional slowness and inconsistency. Patrons are divided on the restaurant's value—some applaud the overall experience, but others are put off by long waits, perceived overpricing, and fluctuating meal quality. Long wait times for seating and service are a common concern among visitors.

Over the past couple of years, we have visited the Spring Tide quite a few times. We've usually had the elderly father-in-law with us who is wheelchair bound when out and about and they have always been most accommodating, even if we haven't booked. if there is room, they'll find a way to accommodate a wheelchair. Food is standard It's a Marston's Pub Chain restaurant so you know what sort of menu you're going to get and can look it up online with good value fixed price fayre.

Visited the much improved "Spring Tide" in Lowestoft for a lunchtime treat. Very impressed, service was excellent. We only ordered fish & chips and a couple of beers. The meal was on "special" price at only £5.99 each, obviously beers were extra. We thought it was excellent value and strongly recommend a visit. They have all sorts of deals during the week. Special mention to "Claire" who, although she was very busy at the time gave us her utmost attention and seemed very efficient, and very friendly. We would certainly return. Thankyou to the team.

We hadn't booked at Spring Tide and the fact it was very quiet on a Saturday night was a concern, but we need not have worried... We were warmly welcomed and invited to sign in on the App and sanitise, then shown to a table. On ordering drinks the waitress recommended we have the bottle (of wine) as it would save us money. From the single-use paper menus we ordered good solid dishes as befitting a blustery October evening: Steak & Ale Pie and veg Sausage & Mash (with fabulous gravy) which were really delicious and very filling, yet we still managed to find room for a shared, equally yummy, Sticky Toffee Pud & Custard. The food is lovely, service prompt and friendly, and the atmosphere quiet and pleasant; overall, a very enjoyable evening, and good value at around £36 including the wine. The Spring Tide is a little out of the Town Centre - Kirkleys Rise, near Asda - which may account for its lack of custom, but it is well worth the trip.

My wife and I took my Mum out for a meal on the Saturday after New Year and we had a lovely meal, albeit the pub was lacking in atmosphere as it was almost empty all night. Since my last visit they had changed the food ordering arrangements - previously you were taken to a table and the order was taken by waiting staff, but now you choose your own table and order the food at the bar using your table number as the reference. As I had booked a table via their website I was unsure how that would work, but on arrival we were simply taken to a table marked as 'Reserved', after giving our booking details. We ordered starters, main courses and desserts. The starters were nice, Mum's prawn cocktail looked good, and my wife and I had a Buttermilk Chicken and Onion Ring 'sharer' dish, which was very tasty with large goujons of chicken and served piping hot, but it came out without the BBQ sauce dip, so I had to return to the bar and ask for it. My wife had fish and chips main course which looked good, and Mum had a rump steak, which was cooked to her taste (well done). I ordered a mixed grill, with the steak medium well, and although it was all tasty the steak was very well done with no pinkness at all, which was a little disappointing. It was as cooked as much as Mum's steak, which was served almost black. For desserts Mum had the lemon drizzle and blueberry sundae, which again looked nice and I helped her finish it, so can vouch it was tasty. My wife and I shared a portion of the Rocky Road Block Calzone, which was of a good size, and very tasty, however the menu stated it contained mini marshmallows and Cadbury flakes and yet these were not apparent at all. We found a couple of pieces of waffle, some melted chocolate brownies and the sauces and cream, but nothing else, so unsure what happened with the marshmallows and flakes. When we left the pub at 8.50pm there were only two other tables in use in the whole pub (and it's a large building) indeed the lights had been dimmed and a couple who entered around 8.30pm had to ask if they were still serving food as it was so quiet - they must have assumed it had closed early. I guess nobody has any money to spend after Christmas, but it did mean the place lacked any sort of atmosphere. Overall a nice meal and reasonably priced, with friendly staff and service, but a few niggles meant I can only give this four stars.

A family group of 3 adults & 1 child (9) went here today, we have been before but not for a long time. The welcome & allocation of table was professional & quick, the inside of restaurant is good. Ordered drinks which arrived timely & food was ordered (2 x beef roasts, 1 x 1/2 chicken roast & 1 x child's pizza). Food arrived timely but it was soon apparent the provided 1/2 chicken was badly overcooked & resembled crispy duck, it was brown & dry with cracked flesh, it wasn't edible. Nobody came to table to ask if all was OK soon after food was served so to avoid delay & one person eating alone the chicken was put to one side & the rest of the meal was eaten. When finished the waitress came over to collect plates & asked if everything was OK but when faced with a complaint didn't seem to know what to do & just said "sorry about that". We had to ask for a free dessert as compensation which after consulting someone she confirmed was OK. The child pizza was small (about size of side plate) & did not represent value for £5.50. The food here is not high quality, it fills an empty stomach but is nothing to write home about. If the manager reads this my biggest advice is make someone responsible for monitoring the quality of food leaving the kitchen, the chicken I had should never have been provided to your customer, also have a clear complaints resolution procedure so if a valid complaint is made it can be resolved easily.

Service was varied by different staff some good some average, frustrating that once seated , not told that we had to order food and drink at bar, only released when saw others go to bar to order food. No staff were aware that we had finished out main meal, plates not collected for ages had to ask for them to be taken away Plus had to ask for steak knives, not bought with the meal. Sadden by meal experience, as we have had many meals there before and was very happy with food and service.

We have always supported The Spring Tide Even when we could finally sit outside Today was a real let down the meals were awful !! The roasts were cold , potatoes over cooked and Yorkshire’s rock hard . It was like they had been cooked yesterday and left on the side ?!! And the small amount of meat it was like we had the left overs between us . One waitress that we know did offer to bring hot Cabbage out , but we were all so hungry we mixed it with Cauliflower cheese that was actually hot . And as to not show the waitresses up and management we left it complaining , but will speak to them iff we go back ! But the chef needs too make sure it’s fresh and get what you pay for .

Thank you for taking the time to gove us some feedback. Much like all other restaurants when opening post lockdown we introduced a limited menu. This was to ensure our kitchen team could abide by the new guidelines whilst working as well as keeping service times down. I'm sorry that the quality did not meet your expectations on this occasion, we would always suggest bringing issues up with a member of our team so that we can resovle in house.

I visit spring Tide around once a month for lunch with a friend. We choose to meet there as the food is very well priced with plenty of it and the staff are very friendly and helpful. We are usually served by Claire who usually remembers our drinks order and is always keen to make sure we are happy with our meals.

My wife and I decided to eat at the Spring Tide to celebrate our Wedding Anniversary. It was our first meal out since March 2020 pre-lockdown so we were not sure how things would go. We needn't have worried as all was very professionally handled and we felt totally safe throughout our meal and stay. I was impressed with the service...we were shown to a table (which were all allocated to ensure social distance was maintained) and our waitress Jenny was over straight away to ask if we wanted to order drinks. Throughout the meal Jenny was friendly and attentive and we were very well looked-after. The time between ordering and receiving our food was short, and we had just the right amount of time between courses to rest and relax. It was pretty quiet in the pub (although quite a few were sitting and eating outside to enjoy the first night of the Euro football matches on the screen) but our meal and service was excellent. My wife ordered the Hunter's Chicken, and I had liver and bacon from the daily specials sheet. We both had desserts, which were yummy. Prices were reasonable for what we got, and the food was served at the right temperature. Well done and thanks to our waitress Jenny and all the staff for making it a lovely occasion.

Fab restaurant with tasty, quality cheap food. i had a XL burger and it was absolutely massive! They had smaller cutlery for my 2 year old sister in law, and she had her meal for £1 - amazing. Claire served us and she was really kind and very attentive. Would definitely recommend going here. Also we barely waited any time at all despite the restaurant being very busy! Couldn’t ask for better. The only thing I would suggest is a refill station for refillable drinks - The bar got very busy when we were there, so you could end up standing and waiting for a while to get a refill.

Have visited several times on steak night which is great value and the steaks ave always been cooked just as requested, the service friendly and efficient. However, I made a mistake the last time, I ordered the steak pie wit chips .The pie was very poor, hard pastry and very little filling, it certainly wasn't filled with tender chunks of beef as the menu states. In fact if there were two desert spoons of gravy with three or four small pieces of meat that was about it. I would have done far better with a petrol station pie and Greggs would be like chalk and cheese. I will certainly be visiting again but for a steak, I will never make the mistake of ordering a pie again. Having said all that £10.55 should have been a clue.

2 adults & 2 children; lasagne came out with no garlic ciabatta & children’s pizza (no accompaniments) a small half of margarita with ham at more than the cost of half the adult/main pizza: £5.85 for 2 large slices whilst son had 3 fishfingers, chips & beans for £4.65. Adult/main pizza start at £8.45 for margarita. Would advise against the half kids pizza if your child isn’t under 6 (also did not come with the Mayo or bbq dip advertised but daughter does not like either of these anyway). Sunday roast beef was however a good option.

Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. Our kids pizzas our half the size of the aldults pizzas which we feel is as genenerous portion for a child. The price is not always 100% reflective of the size of the meal as other fators are taken into consideration when costing a menu such as the cost of preparing and cooking the meal. Our sauces are currently in sachet form due to the current situation with Covid 19 so would have been offered when the food arrived. We are glad you enjoyed other aspects of your meal and hope this does not put you off returning.

The service was poor, glasses and trays were left on the table and we had to wait a long time between courses because the waitress (manager) was standing at the bar until we spoke to the barman Jay he was very helpful throughout the meal and understood everything. They said at the beginning it was table service if you call that table service then your massively mistaking .we kept coming up to the bar to ask them to clear our plates and to pay for our bill , that is some poor table service but the barman Jay should get some praise as he was very helpful and gave good customer service. The food was okay could of been better. The burger was good but the steak in the steak and ale pie was very chewy and the pizza was very greasy. As I work in hospitality I would expect to get better service from a manager very disappointed . We feel as a group of lads aging from 16-22 we were treated differently as everyother table was getting table service As I mentioned before I work in hospitality which happens to be a ☆☆☆☆ hotel and we treat every customer the same as the next regardless of age and appearance. Thanks Jay for a good service!!!!
