We had lunch here on Sunday the food was delicious we had the lamb and my parents had the chicken. We had a problem with the service and a couple of other issues. The manager gave us all our desserts on the house plus our drinks which I didn't think was necessary. So although the food was fantastic and service... More

This is a real gem of a pub with 4 real ales on, well kept. A standard pub menu including good children's options and an extended specials menu which was difficult to chose from. I had Duo of Lamb which was great, my wife had Salmon which was also very good. Very much enjoyed our visit would definitely recommend. Thanks

Had a fabulous meal on Mother's Day so went back this weekend. Even better, great food, service. Has to be the best local pub for food.

The dukes head is a regular for us whether it be a lunch with family or a get together with friends. In the summer there is a lovely beer garden ,with small children's play area, and in the winter there's a cosy log fire awaiting . The DH has 2 bars, reflecting back to its days when all traditional pubs had the... More

Came to eat on Mother's Day with my family and what surprise. Not only was the food great but the staff were fantastic, drinks were quick and the meals arrived in a reasonable time. I did read the reviews before attending and thought the worst but we ate our words and was very surprised. Will definitely be returning and recommending... More

Went for a friends birthday celebration last night and came away with a disappointing experience. Have used previously and had a good time so seemed a good choice but will not be using again if this is what the Resturant is about. Place was not busy with only four tables being occupied but only one waiter on. Seated in the... More

Had dinner last evening with my wife . Chose a very good single malt on arrival which was served very well to include a little ice and soda . We were then taken to our table which had 9 beer mats scattered under one leg to try and balance the table . Not some of the best engineering as the... More

We visited here for lunch and we will be back. The menu was varied with both classic pub meals and specials of the day. All choices were excellent, tasty and beautifully cooked, especially the desserts. The wines were also excellent. The staff were both courteous and attentive.

Very disappointing visit to the dukes head at the weekend, this is a pub/restaurant that we have been to in the past and enjoyed. Haven't been for a year or 2, and will not be returning. On arrival we were seated and then forgotten about for about 20 min, until we then went to ask if we could order drinks.... More

I read the recent reviews and was a little concerned with some of the negatives, but thought I'd try the Restaurant anyway. We arrived, ordered a couple of drinks and were seated promptly. Now the furniture is a bit mismatched which isn't an issue, but one of our chairs was wonky and had to be replaced. Our table was propped... More
