From the friendly greeting on entry to the final goodbye this was one of the finest dining experiences ever!! Although not cheap, this place is amazing value! The chef is awesome, the staff are very professional and the food phenomenal! If you do nothing else try the Toffee Apple Eclair!! And the Gin... try the Gin!!

Went for Sunday lunch. Good value for money for quality of food. Staff were polite, helpful and very obliging. Went with friends and would definitely visit again even though its an hour away from where we live. The only negative I have is that the starter was very small against the sizes of the mains and desserts.

I have had the good fortune to dine here on several occasions and thoroughly recommend the food, though I was somewhat disappointed by the warmth, or rather lack of warmth received on arrival during my most recent visit. This was noteworthy because it contrasted with the warmth of the welcome given to the diners who arrived just ahead of my... More

For the price this is one of the nicest meals I have eaten. Our niece brought us here for lunch with her son. We chose from the set menu. We were served a dill, cucumber and mint sorbet, which was sharp and delicious. I had the Cumin and lime grilled cod fillet, curry roast cauliflower, brocoletta pakora, kohlrabi and mango.... More

Partner and I really enjoyed a delightful (ie quite literally full of delights) birthday meal here. The ten course grazing menu provided us with a leisurely evening (they advise 3 hours to complete) full of interesting and flavoursome food. We also enjoyed the most pleasant interaction with various staff, and of course with Sandra who is i/c front of house.... More

We meet friends here and we know it the standard is excellent. The choice is changed regularly and so it great to have a new menu. Selection of gins is amazing.

Booked the Hammer and Pincers for our Anniversary lunch in mid March.. We were travelling back from a couple of days in York..and thought this would be ideal place to celebrate. We were not disappointed, from the moment we walked in the door the service was first class and could not wish for a better meal..everything was perfect and that's... More

I use trip advisor a lot to review restaurants before I visit, I have found some amazing hidden gems and think this is another! Lovely setting outside, nice little seating area. Inside was not too crowded, tables weren't on top of each other so didn't feel claustrophobic. Lovely comfy seats. The staff were all friendly and attentive without being intrusive... More
