Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Location good, however walking along the roads, especially after dark could be a bit 'hairy' as it is quite busy. Staff all excellent, especially the breakfast lady, Food also very good both breakfast and evening meals. Room tired, and bathroom needs upgrade. Bedding and sleep...quality very good and no 'pub' noise could be heard. Overall..If you can see past the bedroom/bathroom shortcomings, then you'll enjoy everything else.More

A most enjoyable experience! Very pleasant atmosphere, friendly staff and excellent food. Homely open log fires and some cosy, intimate little nooks. I didn’t enjoy the dish I ordered, my fault entirely, and it did not appear on the bill. My wife is very fond...of steak and ale pie and she commented that it is the best she has eaten in the area. It is baked in house and is full of prime steak. My vegetarian daughter ate the plant based burger and also made very favourable comments. The pub is also dog friendly. Thank you all for making this such an enjoyable visit.More

Nice place, well presented and nice layout. All on one level. Booked September but this was not registered. So had to check and then rebook! Busy. Food ok. Roast Beef especially disappointing. It came as it was. No choice as to how it was cooked....Did not feel it was good VFM. Service also lacking. Generally slow, iffy, appeared haphazard. Not enough experienced staff on the floor. Expensive for what it was. Won’t be going back.More

We booked in late on a Sunday afternoon for an overnight stay. The restaurant was a mad house with seemingly hundreds of people eating, moving about and talking while the poor staff were rushing about doing their best to serve everyone. By seven o'clock when...we came down for our evening meal the restaurant had emptied and the staff were serving just a few tables. We asked what was happening earlier and they said that it had been the busiest Sunday that they could ever remember. Frankly they looked shell shocked and heaven only knows what state the kitchen staff were in. However, they rallied round and found us a quiet table in an alcove and helped us order food. Regrettably there were mistakes with the food but we recognised that the staff were very tired so we were quite content with what we had although it wasn't as good as we expected from the reviews hence the average rating. It was a pleasant overnight stay, the room was excellent and the staff were outstanding.More

I stayed here for 1 night on a business trip while passing through and wanted a location near my meetings, but also comfortable and not in a typical corporate hotel for a nice change. I was very pleasantly surprised by both the accommodation and restaurant...at the Golden Pheasant - staff were very welcoming and super accommodating, food was excellent (top notch fish and chips, done right with perfect batter) and they went out of their way to help. I'll definately be back - for the food and the accommodation. Easy access from the motorway and a lovely stay. The extra Belgian biscuits were a treat too - thanks!More

AMY a breath of fresh air in customer sevices ….thank you Amy ! We went here from essex for my aunties 80th birthday celebration. We had a buffet and stayed overnight. Location wise this pub is perfectly located as the train station is literally a...1 minute walk, one stop and you are in Knutsford a beautiful town with cafes / restaurants and boutique style shops , wonderful! Our service was impeccable from start to finish , reception greeting fantastic and bar staff especially AMY was just incredibly professional / courteous / helpful and much more … thank you Amy for all your help to make the 2 days stay special. The manager was fantastic as we had a puncture and he assisted with the help in getting us back on the road, again thank you. Suella again just fantastic! Food served here was excellent & can't be faulted. The deep filled steak & ale pie was one of the best we have ever tasted. Waters & waitresses were friendly, efficient & offered fine attention to detail. Good selection of local ales & other drinks...in the pub. If you're in this area & want a great meal, call in to The Golden Pheasant.More

Apologies for the delay in reply. Yes indeed, the restaurant and pub are all on one level with no steps in and plenty of width to get around, although bedrooms are not accessible by wheelchair as there is no lift.
