We've always loved this cafe and so decided to have our engagement party in the conservatory last weekend! Fern and the team were fantastic. I have coeliac disease (gluten intolerant) and they made delicious GF sandwiches and cakes for me. The family had a great...day, service was great and the environment is always so lovely. What a lovely hidden gem this is, popped in over the weekend with family. The food, the service and the staff were impeccable and couldn’t be faulted. The staff members Carrie and Fern looked after us whole heartedly and treated us like an extension of...their family. On 2 August, my 4 colleagues and I visited this gem of a place for a second time. The staff were yet again super friendly, smiley, caring, helpful, and couldn't do enough for us. I go for lunch to The Courtyard usually once a week and have done so for quite some time. I was looking through some of the poor reviews and to be honest was amazed. The staff and owner seem to have been there a long...time and have ALWAYS found them friendly and courteous but at the same time totally professional WITHOUT exception. The food is always piping hot and freshly cooked. At times it does get busy so I always ring in advance to be sure of a place but people do arrive when passing. I brilliant place as far as I'm concerned.More

4 of us went for lunch today and all chose something different from the extensive menu. The food was delicious and the staff were so friendly. I chose the extremely tasty Welsh rarebit, whilst other family members chose soup/sandwiches and omelette. We couldn’t fault anything...and will definitely return.More

Thank you for the best breakfast we have had in a long time , they Eggs royal was astonishing . Especially the hollandaise sauce. My son loves his croissant with smoked salmon his favourite. 😆

It was a great little caffe , I had the crayfish and and avocado salad, which was fantastic. It was so nice to see tables and chairs back outside again. Can’t wait to bring the family back with the dog. 😊

It seems my experience is quite common reading other reviews! From my experience, my wife and I cycled to Knutsford on Saturday morning, and whilst my wife locked our bikes outside on the street, whilst I had to take a call from my doctor, so...I wandered into the courtyard to get away from the traffic noise and then grab a table. Whilst I was on this very personal and important phone call, the lady working at the Courtyard felt it necessary to interrupt me in full conversation, she used the pretence of "Can I help you?", but it was clear from her blunt interruption that she didn't view me as a desired customer as when I said replied no thank you and tried to continue my phone conversation, she went on to interrupt further and suggest that I was in the way of other customers entering, which of course, I was not! Needless to say that after such a cold welcome, I went back out and told my wife of my experience and so we went on to enjoy some lovely coffee and cakes, with a warm welcome and polite staff at the Cafe on the Corner next door. It perplexes me why some people work in the hospitality industry when they have absolutely no interpersonal skills, particularly when dealing with potential customers! What also amazes me is that despite the number of similar experiences voiced here on TripAdvisor, the staff continue to behave like this towards customers. Well, good luck to them because with such stiff competition in Knutsford for customers, I'm sure they can ill afford to turn anyone away!More

A fabulous hidden location away from hustle and bustle. Great quirky old building with lovely atmosphere. Staff very friendly and attentive. Great selection on the menu for our lunch. Too full for cake. So we took it home!More
