Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We arrived late for a one night stay. Excellent welcome. Checked in. Room perfect spotlessly clean, large bathroom. Had dinner in the restaurant delicious meal and wine could not fault it. Breakfast one of the best we had. Had freshfruit yoghurt and cereal. Full English...breakfast perfectly cooked. Service friendly. All in all a lovely break. Would definitely stay again.More

The vegan curry I had for lunch today was delicious. It was nicely spiced but not too hot, with a mix of vegetables including thin French beans, mushrooms and peppers. It came with 2 segments of naan bread and rice (mainly white plus some wild)....The waiter was pleasant and helpful. I have enjoyed meals at Crossroads for many years: most recently, before today, veggie sausage and mash, and fish (fresh and nicely cooked), chips and mushy peas.More

Gorgeous food. We went for Sunday dinner and I had the roast beef. I ordered an extra side of cauliflower cheese as it’s my fave and I knew it was good from here. I wasn’t disappointed. I had to be rolled out of the pub...I was that full. I didn’t have a starter, others did and I don’t know how they eat both as they are good sizes. It’s a lovely pub with great food.More

This is a nice pub restaurant, with nice food and helpful friendly staff. I do not eat meat and I mostly avoid dairy food. (This is for animal cruelty and health reasons: I am medically qualified). I used to enjoy Crossroads' large Yorkshire puddings filled...with veggie sausages and gravy and onions. Also their spinach and mushroom pie. Sadly these are no longer on the menu, and I struggle to know what to choose. My latest choice was a fish sandwich, which was just ok. (I'm not sure about English curries, when these are so good in Indian restaurants). Maybe best will be their veg tempura with added fries?More

We were here on a Saturday early evening, adults and children in the party. The whole idea for us was an easy and tasty meal, but what we got was a lovely meal, impecable service and a whole experience. The food... oh the food... I...might have to go back for more... I digress, the food was perfect. They were out of a few items on the list of starters this Saturday, but in all honesty, it did not do any bad, as they have a good list, and we saw multiple starters on the table, and they all were highly praised. We also saw multiple mains hit the table, and be devoured! Yes, devoured, the food was so good, not one sought to leave any remains of it on their plates! The desert was perfectly sized to not be overwhelming nor leave a feeling of wanting more.. All throughout this, the staff were impecable, asking questions and generally being available, without you feeling they were around you constantly.More

Arrived not really knowing what to expect but chose this inn for its location as we planned visits to friends and family nearby. What a great decision it was to stay here. We were immediately welcomed by friendly staff. The inn serves excellent beer (Timothy...Taylor’s) which was our first pleasant discovery. The first night we also discovered what excellent food was served - with imaginative touches to traditional dishes from the chef. Breakfast was equally great - with very generous proportions. The inn was kept very busy with diners at lunchtime and in the evenings (certainly at the weekend) and the six available guest rooms seemed fully occupied. We were glad we booked some time in advance for the four nights we stayed. So booking is recommended for diners, and early booking for overnight guests - its certainly worth it. All the staff were incredibly helpful and friendly, no matter how busy they were. All brilliant at multi-tasking! The food on our other evenings did not disappoint, and breakfast was consistently good. The only slight drawback was an intermittent wifi but this certainly would not deter us from a repeat visit. As an added bonus we were able to top up charge our EV using a standard domestic socket outside the garage (where there was ample parking). Very slow charge but a boon before we set off again on a long trip when we left. (So if you drive an EV do pack an domestic supply - three pin plug - converter.) Thank you to Jayne and all the staff for making our stay so great!More

We have visited this pub on numerous occasions, with the bar lady Lauren always going above and beyond for us, nothing is ever too much to ask. Consistently provides such a lovely greeting, we leave feeling very satisfied each time. Food is amazing, one of...the best places in Halifax. Always a lovely atmosphere with a great selection of draft beers, as well as a lovely Sunday Roast. Could not recommend the place more.More

This pub features as an overnight stop for motorhomes. Stayed overnight in our motorhome, but drank in the pub in the evening and ate breakfast inside in the morning, served 7:00-9:00am. Situated in the hills above Halifax, (1,000 feet above sea-level) the pub is in...a great spot with tremendous views across the valley. Most importantly, the in was warm in the evening & warm in the morning. Tremendous menu for breakfast. I chose a full-English , whilst my wife enjoyed kippers. Great value at £8.95 each. Staff were friendly & helpful.More

When we arrived at the Crossroads Inn after a busy few days and a long drive in horrid conditions I’ll admit to a sense of foreboding, it is, after all, positioned at the top of a bleak and blustery hill. I need not have worried....Oscar welcomed us warmly and took us to our cosy room. Don’t expect space but do expect all you need for a lovely nights stay, the bed was the best we’ve slept in away from home for many a year. We had booked to dine in the pub and, wow, what a wonderful surprise. A great atmosphere, helpful and friendly staff, a diverse menu, even I was spoilt for choice - rare for a near vegan fusspot. Breakfast too was home cooked and wonderful. Oh and as for that bleak and blustery hill… in the morning, when the storm had blown over, the views were to die for.More

After a truly awesome New Years Eve with an overnight stay we were well impressed by the pub and its staff. Everyone was very cheerful and helpful and very efficient. Food was truly spectacular, superb quality, even the drinks tasted good, well they would after...3 or 4, not too dear either. Really comfortable room with all the amenities and a wonderful breakfast on Jan 1st. I wanted to book for next year. Anyway we have just had Sunday roast there and my tastebuds have died and gone to heaven. Quite simply it was probably the best Sunday roast I have ever had. Devine Yorkshires, perfect roast potatoes, superb veggies and enough roast beef to last you a week. Truly wonderful and very well priced, you could not find better.More
