Visited last night and I was shocked at the response from the manager to a family that was complaining. The food was taking ages to come and out and she literally came out so defensive and rude. All she needed to do was apologise and...not once did she. The family had every right to complain as the food was taking so long to be served and there was no communication or reassurance from staff. We won't be visiting again awful what we witnessed so aggressive.More

First of all, we waited two hours for both starter and main to arrive which was bizarre. We where surprised by how patient we where. When the food eventually arrived it was ok with some minor complications such as dry chicken/ dry chips/ a few...raw peppers which we where not to bothered about. Once our meal finished we asked to speak to a manager. She came out incredibly defensive and ready I argue which shocked us all. We explained the things that where wrong expecting some kind of apology or a discount, however she looked very blunt and told us that basically what we said was untrue. When we started to explain more things that where wrong she pointed very aggressively in our face and said “let me talk!” Which we where all very taken back by. She then proceeded to raise her voice and say “we are banned” and “we should leave.” Without even resolving the problem. We where all very shocked and upset by this. See we paid and just left. When we was walking away she came outside and shouted “what did you say” we all looked round in confusion. Obviously she was very annoyed and angry and she choose to take it out on us. Even her staff seemed shocked by her behaviour!More

We visited the White hart on a Monday lunchtime, the welcome by all the staff was warm and friendly, we were offered drinks shortly after being shown to the table which was situated in a nice bright airy conservatory. The options on the menu were...varied and reasonably priced. We made our selections and it wasn’t too long before it all arrived, piping hot and exactly what we expected. We had ordered a child’s Mac & cheese, when the waitress brought it she also included a spare bowl for our granddaughter to use as the dish that it was cooked/served in was very hot, you don’t get that sort of detail and customer service in other establishments. All of the lunches we excellently prepared and presented well on the plates. I can’t recommend this restaurant more. We are returning to this area in a couple of weeks time and I will be email Craig and the team to book another table to enjoy this experience again. First class guys, well done!!!More

Sat Aug 5 2023. Our friends recently bought a lodge on a near-by park and, as 3 couples, we met for a meal. We pre-booked for 7.30 as service ends at 8.30. There was 12 other diners. The room was spacious, tables not crammed together....It was a conservatory style room with plenty of windows, and a high ceiling, giving it an airy feeling. Our server, Emma, was a delight and engaged in chatter with all of us. She said we wouldn’t leave hungry and she was right. Between us, we had fish and chips, the battered Haddock was as long as the ‘steak’ plate, home made slow cooked Chilli was well received as was the Caesar salad which filled the large round dinner plate. I enjoyed the surf n turf which was cooked to perfection. One of our group, not being a big eater, asked if they could have the prawn cocktail starter for their main. No problem, and when it arrived was a meal in itself. There was a nice selection of beers, including some you don’t often see in other places, plus a cocktail bar. On a personal note, my only niggle was the choice of dessert. I like something sweet / sharp such as apple crumble / lemon torte / key lime pie. The selection available, although several in number, had four caramel based, one chocolate based, and Banoffee cheesecake. This left a choice of either fruit or millionaire sundae. One had the cheesecake and the rest, millionaire sundae. Two asked if the chocolate ice cream could be replaced by more vanilla and, again, this was no problem. Looking at the menus you might feel it looks a little pricey however, the quantity and quality, certainly support the prices. We were so impressed over all, we immediately booked to return the following day (Aug 6) for the carvery.More

It was our 2nd visit here, both times when staying at haven just up the road. We have an autistic son whom needs to be seated in a quiet area and on both visits the staff have been wonderful in finding us a suitable area...to eat which has allowed us a calm environment to enjoy family time. The service was excellent and the food, fresh, generous in size and very tasty. I can’t fault this place in terms autism friendly and delicious food. We will return next time we visit Hopton.More

We visited this lovely restaurant last week while staying at the Haven Hopton holiday park. We phoned up earlier in the day to book a table and I had some questions about their gluten free menu. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff, they...were all very friendly and professional. The wait from ordering was about 35 minutes which was fine and very worth it. Delicious food and they catered for my diet no problem. My partner had a vegan burger, my daughter had ribs and my younger daughter had the mac and cheese from the kids menu. I had the halloumi, which was actually a starter but I ordered it as my main with a jacket potato and salad. Portion sizes were generous! Will definitely visit again if we are in the area.More
