Lovely meal, hand gel and distanced tables which was great. I asked for a dish not on the menu and they were happy to OBLIGE and it was lovely. Great price as well, 2 of us ate 2 courses plus poppadoms and 4 large drinks for £25 each. I will return next time I'm in Great Yarmouth.

I went to the Savoy Tandoori during my visit to Great Yarmouth in February 2020. I was pleasantly surprised with the food, ambience and the owner. Miah who cooks and does front of house too, is a lovely young man and the food he cooked for me, my son and mother was really tasty and beautifully presented. Miah is very friendly and personable with his lovely wife helping him to run the restaurant. The portions of food was generous and they made a lovely salad for us as we requested. If you want some delicious Bangladeshi food then go to this restaurant and you will not be disappointed.

So, me and family revisited Savoy Tandoori after the eat out to help scheme when they were extremly busy and lead to service being a bit slow but perfectly understandable. When we revisited last week the service is great and the food was delish espically the award winning chef miah special. The service was swift and smooth. Many thanks to savoy team cant wait to visit again and will be definitely recommending to friends and family easily best indian in Yarmouth.

Thought we would give this restaurant a try whilst we were in the area and there was the offer on, I wish we hadn't bothered now. Can I say I never leave bad reviews unless it's really bad, but the staff at this establishment were extremely slow at serving. We were served by a rather abrupt young man who was quite rude, starters took about three quarters of an hour to arrive which we thought was ridiculous. Mains came after another hour, never waited this long before so not sure what the issue was but there were only about four tables of diners so dread to think of the wait times when it's full. Mains were ok but on the cold side, chicken seemed rather tough and chewy. The chutneys are average, the mint raita was the worse I've tasted at a restaurant, it was very thin and had a horrible taste to it, the mango chutney wasn't the best either, very thin. Didn't have desserts as didn't fancy waiting around all day, also the chips are not chips they are extremely thin fries. All in all it was very very slow with average food, won't be returning.

Food was actually good... BUT What i didn’t like. The skinny waiter with the mask half on half off that said “ your table is ready yeah” and pointed at it then threw one menu on it when there was 2 of us. A constant group of teenagers who were walking in and out of the restaurant constantly then into the kitchen in tracksuits and sliders talking to the employees and having a joke about while their restaurant looks like a rubbish dump and they are struggling. People walking out waiting for tables and their priority was to chat. And finally the eat out to help out scheme which gov website clearly states food and non alcoholic drinks. They only gave us the 50% off our food then added on the 4 soft drinks after at full price. Unfortunately the group next to us faced the same problem and confusion. The organisation was tragic but they were trying their best but failing. The ceiling is also very worn and dirty.

We love Indian restaurants and aren’t local to the area so thought we would give it a try thanks to good reviews, we were wrong. We visited on the final day of the eat out to help out scheme, we pre booked a table a week in advance. When we arrived we said we had a booking, they had no record of it despite me having rang up before and they tried to make it seem like we got the dates mixed up despite me having proof on an email, very rude start to the meal. Eventually they made a table up for us reluctantly even though the restaurant was only half full anyway. Food was ok but nothing special. It took around 35 mins for drinks to arrive, the service was shocking. The chutneys weren’t very nice either. Everything was slow, it took around 1 hour for mains to arrive. Curry was nice but chips were the thinnest I’ve ever seen; they were fries and thinner than McDonalds fries. Naan breads were very small but nice, most drinks were served from bottles (Coke etc) and cans poured into glasses. I do believe it would be best for staff to know better customer service skills, there was a lady worker standing at the bar the whole night with her fist on her chin looking bored as anything; not very good impression. It took us around 45 minutes after asking for the bill to get it and to top the rudeness off, the waiter asked if we needed our change when we went to pay, rather than allowing us discretion, never known this in any restaurant. We love Indian food but won’t be returning to this one.

I never leave a review for anything but felt this place warranted an honest review. I don’t know how the hell this Indian has such good reviews. Visited with a table of 8 of us. Sat for over half an hour before we was even asked for our drink orders. Finally got popadoms then waited another 45 minutes or so before plates were taken away and main meals ordered. Could have been forgiven if the food was decent. We all love a curry and have been to numerous restaurants around the country and have never been left so disappointed. Not one of us was happy with our meals. The meat was as dry as sawdust. Ordered a Shabaka and not one lentil in sight, not sweet nor sour like a dansak should be. Not to mention the toilets were horrible, sticky floors, was not impressed! Also just to add we r not in the slightest hard people to please. But if u fancy a curry just grab a microwave meal from the savers section of tesco, you’ll be far more impressed!

We booked here going by the trip advisor reviews and was looking forward to it, unfortunately we were very disappointed. The papadoms were greasy and had a bit of a stale texture, the mint sauce that came with the papodoms appeared watery and lacking flavour, the lime pickle resembled a thick glue and the onion looked like pasta. We had the mixed platter for starters and it was probably the best bit although coriander overload. We asked the staff for a recommendation for a curry and mine was supposed to be on par spice wise with a jalfrezi/madras and my wife went for a milder one, when they arrived they were warm and not pipping hot so went cold quickly, the Bombay potatoes (Mumbai potatoes ) on there menu were also cold and my naan bread was falling apart and looked a mess. I could maybe understand if they were busy, but there was only one other table when we arrived and they had already finished their food, the curry’s we had were identical and not spicy at all (however had a nice flavour) when we questioned this with the staff they didn’t really have an answer. We found the staff to be quite un-professional and didn’t seem to care, especially the 2 young ones at front of house. We also found that the restaurant itself was not of the quality you would expect. The ceiling tiles looked a mess with one broken in half and dipping down, all spot lights looked like they were going to fall out, one of which had actually fallen and was hanging out by the toilets, when questioned about the safety of the lights again they didn’t know what to say and didn’t have an answer. In all, what a poor experience and with the current COVID pandemic I would of thought they would do everything they could to gain repeat custom, we certainly won’t be going back.

I agree with Adrian's review. In my case the staff were lacking in experience (the girl, who appeared to be school age asked if I wanted rice with my Biryani!!). The poppadum's were probably 2-3 days old. The accompanying side dishes were old and tasteless. The Chicken Tikka biryani was so salty as to be almost inedible. The only thing redeeming the place was Cobra beer on draft! Not cheap either.

The food was exceptional, but as you will know that is just one aspect of any dining experience. I have never experienced such poor service as an example when looking at a dirty table covered in food I asked that it be cleaned do I didn't gave no continue looking at it. I was promptly told "it's not my job" REALLY!!!! Our table left dirty after our meal I asked for it to be cleaned and was asked "while you're still sitting here?" YES!!! Not asked if we want dessert or coffee Had to ask for cutlery for our main meal Young inexperience staff who need alot if training. They were sitting around chatting at the bar

We took a long weekend in Great Yarmouth and ended up eating here twice. On both occasions we found the staff to be very friendly and knowledgeable about their menu (my wife is coeliac). Their range of gluten-free options was great and the quality of food was very high. It's a really nice atmosphere from a small but caring business and if we are this way again we will definitely stop by again.

Don’t let the decor fool you, the food, quality and service is outstanding. Food plentiful, good value, staff super friendly, came with my two boys and the waiter was very attentive to them, gave them free poppadoms while waiting for the mains. Food was on in point 100% we were looking for halal food and this ticked all the boxes, will be back here, went to another ‘fancy’ Indian restaurant, food there was not so good.

Staying in Scratby for 2 weeks and tried another Indian. Glad we found the Savoy as it’s by far the best we’ve tried. Beautiful food, delicious. We ordered a collection and food was piping hot and we can’t find any fault at all. We will definitely be going back again for another before we leave. Big thumbs up to this great Indian restaurant. I have been eating Indian food for the last 47 years and tonight’s meal was a total disappointment. They admitted the chicken pakoras was way to spicy and a mistake was made in the kitchen. My chicken Narga was so spicy hot it totally destroyed my taste buds in my mouth to the point I could not eat. The onion rice was clearly microwaved as the blow was as hot as the rice itself and the top of the rice had dried out to the point of being crunchy. My wife’s main was ok thankfully. They took off the cost of the chicken pakoras So paid £55 for the meal 85% was untouched and explained to the owner my disappointment he basically laughed it off. Will definitely not be returning back again to this Indian restaurant poorly cooked food with a manager who thinks it’s funny. Just to top it off being a diabetic I had taken my insulin for my evening meal which I never had.

I would rate this restaurant as just so-so. The ambiance was nowhere to be found, and the pictures I viewed before visiting were definitely not representative of reality. My wife ordered the Tandoori Mixed Grill and specified to make sure the chicken came out moist. The food was dry and burnt. Service was very slow, so she just picked at it rather than send it back. I had the King Prawn Vindaloo. There were 3 prawns served and the gravy was nothing special. But I felt it a few hours later!!! Finally, the Tandoori Roti looked and tasted like a piece of toasted Pita. I just cannot recommend this restaurant.
