My companions and I went to the Hotel with a view to having lunch. Subsequent to the consumption of a Guinness, my companions decided there was nothing on the menu that warranted their attention. There was an unremarkable array of dishes which seemed to consist of various types of sandwiches, together with the obligatory fish and chips and steak sandwich.... More

Dropped in without a reservation and although busy the staff made us very welcome and found us a table straight away. Food and drink was proper Scottish Highland fayre and was tasty and well served by the efficient and friendly staff.

I would have given a 3.5 if it was possible. Not great, not bad just average... If it wasn't for the ribeye served with burnt butter (the vegs were also accompanied/cooked/served with burnt butter). The food was really OK but not amazing. I wouldn't especially recommend

Enjoyed my meal with a friend to celebrate our joint birthdays. Nice pleasant surroundings, staff pleasant & helpful. No feel of being rushed or anything so were able to relax.

We visited while staying at a local guest house and really enjoyed our meal. Our starters were soup and smoked mackerel pate and our mains were steak and roast lamb, all excellent and good value. We had no room for desert unfortunately.

Had Sunday roast in the early evening at a pleasant window table. The beef in particular was very tasty and overall the meal was good quality at a reasonable price. Surprise touch was that a piper was on hand outside the hotel (6.00 to 6.30) to welcome us in.

This hotel was very good. Everything was fantastic. Staff very friendly & helpful. Grantown on Spey is a lovely village and a great base to visit lots of other sights & villages. Scenery wonderful.

Having checked the website, we set out to have dinner in the restaurant to be greeted by a slip of paper in the window stating that it shuts at 7.30. We saw other people also turning away on other evenings with children in tow. Most disappointing.

The menu looks the part with a good choice of dishes. Good service from the young team and a nice dining area. Unfortunately the quality of the food doesn't match the price, poorly presented and tasted like a ready meal.

Not sure what to make of this one. The food was good, we had steak, lamb and burger. Tasteful and tender meat. The service still has some room for improvement, uninspired at times from the staff, but of more importance was dirty glasses. It was not one but in general, should be easy to fix. Include a short course on... More
