Went for a work meal and really enjoyed it. Food was great, good ales and very friendly staff. Only criticism is that the bar area is too brightly lit! Will go back if in the area again.

The food is fresh, presented beautifully and above all tastes good. The decor of the pub and restaurant is tasteful, comfortable and cosy in the winter with the fire lit. I was impressed with how polite and courteous the staff were, nothing was too much. Overall a great experience and we will return.

We were looking for a lunchtime pint on a Monday. Everywhere was closed then we drove past and this was open. Turns out they'd opened for a private party but the barmaid let us stop for a pint as long as we kept out of the way and didn't want to eat. The chouce of rwal ales were all in... More

We arrived late in the evening on a Friday; things were still busy and we had a bit of a wait, but were seated quickly and served drinks. My wife's portion of cod and chips were excellent, though huge. My chicken parmesan (plus a side salad) was excellent in every way, with interesting accompaniments and a flavoursome sauce - again... My wife decided to give the Tollemache Arms (TA) try for a meal and are we glad we did. The welcome, service and the food was really excellent - the portions were magnificent and you certainly do not leave feeling hungry. My wife had soup with homemade bread and butter, followed by scampi and chips, and a creme brûlée. I... More

During a recent stay in Grantham we found ourselves with no where to eat quite late on a Saturday night. We had a quick look on trip advisor and found the Tollemarche arms. A quick phone call booked as a table, however they stopped serving in 30 minutes and we were a good 20 minutes away! There was no spaces... More

Sometimes I am tempted to have a burger on a bistro pubs menu but these burgers are to be believed. Large, probably over large but what the heck, tasty and reasonably priced. The starters are also worth mentioning, the duck rolls are tasty and plentiful, as is the whitebait. The waitresses were very helpful.

Description
The Tollemache Arms is situated 4 miles off the A1 in the beautiful village of Buckminster, between Colsterworth and Melton Mowbray on the B676.The bar is open to everyone, their muddy feet and their dogs! Tasty bar nibbles such as home roasted mixed nuts, olives, pickled eggs and much more are prepared by the Chef and a selection of draught beers and local ales are changed regularly - all to be enjoyed in front of a cosy fire during the cold winter months! The dining room offers intimacy and the menu offers pub classics or sandwiches at lunchtime as well as bar snacks and other dishes to push your palate. The library is ideal for coffee mornings, meetings and an area for the children, with toys available. It is also popular during the evenings for pre-dinner/party drinks and after dinner coffees. We have a large garden with plenty of space for eating outside and can cater for private parties, weddings, christenings or any other events, either within the pub or in a marquee outside in the garden. The Tollemache Arms offers a relaxed, cosy atmosphere with friendly chat and we look forward to welcoming you on your visit.
