What lovely staff ,excellent food and great music. My only negative comment is having to pay £7 for a glass of proccoso wine on arrival . We had a bottle of rose wine for dinner at reasonable cost. Bottle of proccoso was £ 18 so how can a glass cost £7 Very disappointed so I would suggest one either buys... More

The food was lovely and the service was very good. But my husband is in a wheel chair the entrance was via a side door you had to ring the bell they were very quick at answering very difficult to get through around like a back store area. No disabled toilet so poor Chris did not have a drink. Nice... More

Three of us had a midweek lunch here, recently. We were warmly greeted and asked where we would like to sit. We opted for the light and warm conservatory, which soon filled up with customers. There is also plenty of room in the pub itself to eat. The menu required our full attention and took sometime to peruse, owing to the... More

Fantastic restaurant/bar, we stayed in Shamrock Cottage for a week, just up the street from the pheasant in early November and used the facilities of the Pheasant on a daily basis, whether for food or drink. Quiz night on Thursday was testing but fun, I even managed to play for their darts team for the second year in a row.... More

Visited twice in November 2016. Food was excellent. Very well cooked, excellent presentation and tasted great. Staff were very good, particularly the young woman who served us (didn't get her name). Pub had a great atmosphere. Would definitely recommend and visit again.

We visited the Pheasant Inn on the recommendation of the landlady of the Corner Beech House bed and breakfast where we were staying in Grange over Sands. Wow, what a choice, a very nice, lively local pub with a great menu and excellent service. We hadn’t booked in advance but a table for four was quickly found for us in... More

2nd visit to the Pheasant in a month. Had garlic ciabatta with cheese which was superb then the large haddock and chips, the fish was really fresh and tasty. Would have loved a sweet but was full to busting. Free wifi was very good

Big family meal (9 of us). All the food was good, nice selection. Not cheap but worth it. Sat at a large table a bit too close to the noisy bar for my aged parents, who got tired so we opted out of puds - we'll try for a quieter table next time. Nice ale on tap too.

My wife and I called on Saturday lunch time after a nice walk to Humphrey Head on a beautiful morning. It was nice just to enter ( after taking our boots off ) and order drinks and sit down in the bar and a young lady very attentively took our order. We were a bit muddy to go in the dining... More

The Pheasant is a family run free house owned by the Jones family since 2005. We aim to provide great locally sourced food in a friendly and relaxed environment. We also offer a great range of real ales, wines, lagers and spirits. Situated in the pretty south Lakeland village of allithwaite we are popular with locals and tourists alike. The conservatory offers stunning views across Morecambe Bay and Humphrey Head where you can walk the Cumbrian way or admire Peregrine falcons. Food is served daily 12-9pm where we offer our full menu in addition to daily specials and the lunchtime offer 2 meals £12 served 12-4 Mon- Sat. On Sunday's we offer The Great British sunday roast with meats from local butchers Higginson and Proctor and turkey from the Fylde coast farmer Peter Willacy. The menu offers variety from simple pub classics such as fresh beer battered haddock, chips and mushy peas to signature dishes such as Cartmel Valley Game crispy confit of duck leg with a sweet plum jus, cabbage and bacon and spring onion mashed potato. We also offer a young diners menu and welcome families.
