The Pheasant deserves all the good reviews. We chose to dine here because we were staying close by and reviews were good. We were not disappointed, good honest food made with fresh ingredients. Staff are really friendly and the place is full of chatter and has a good feel about it. Would eat there again if we were close by.

Everything was amazing, food, drink and staff. From the minute we walked through the door we received a warm welcome and were seated with menus immediately. The staff were all lovely and incredibly attentive. We had the homemade pie and Cumbria chicken, both were amazing. No complaints about anything! We will deffinately be returning when we come to Cumbria again,... More

I recently visited here for food whilst with my partner. Overall the experience was pleasant. The staff were friendly although not overly attentive, they were very polite and chatty when they took our order and cleared our plates. The pub looked busy but we were two of the few diners however the food was very enjoyable, particularly the salmon.

We are fairly regular visitors to The Pheasant - 4 or 5 times a year - usually with family and friends and are never disappointed with the reception we get or the food served. The steak and ale pie was absolutely D.E.L.I.C.I.O.U.S.

Visited for NYE and ate here twice in 3 days. Amazing food and service. Would definitely recommend for families and couples and our dogs were welcomed. The best fish I have ever eaten. 10/10! We will be back next New Year! Thank you! 😌

This is a good local eating place and pub. It's family run and provides a wide range of foods from fish and chips to curries to cumbrian lamb. Its all well cooked and value for money. The atmosphere is fun and friendly. Its worth a trip if you are looking for a straightforward meal while on holiday.
