Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The venue is nice and clean if a little sparten a bit like eating in someone's front room, the toilet was immaculate with nice hand wash, the service was a bit slow, the food was nice but nothing special considering how expensive it is compared...to other places in Low Fell poor value for money IMO, would not be in a hurry to go back, food elsewhere just as good and with better atmosphere.More

I attended here with my wife and having called ahead to check, we were allowed to bring our small dog to sit in the downstairs café part of the restaurant. The menu had all of these usual bunch items you would expect and initially when...I looked at some of the prices, I thought there were slightly Pricey, £11 for salmon and eggs. However, I must say I can completely understand why, I’ve never had such fresh delicious produce. The yolks of the eggs were bright orange and the black pudding and sausage was absolutely delicious. Some of the best I’ve ever had. The coffees were okay, nothing massively special. Staff were friendly throughout. All in all I would certainly re attend for lunch or even dinner.More

We popped in for brunch, I’m vegetarian so opted for the halloumi hash. The big disappointment was finding 4 pieces of chorizo amongst the halloumi. Staff didn’t seem bothered and said ‘maybe it came off another plate?’ - Yikes!! Maybe the chef got it wrong...and tried to pick out the chorizo?! Not sure I’d trust the kitchen to not contaminate vegetarian dishes with meat products now.More

This is a real gem and well worth a detour if you are in the area. It is a very nice cafe/restaurant in a good location with easy parking nearby. They have a comprehensive menu of interesting meals as well as the traditional standards such...as the all day breakfast. I had the vegan breakfast which was delicious. As I’m not vegan I had it with eggs which made it even better. The meals were quickly prepared with very fresh ingredients and extremely tasty. I would certainly go back again.More

Visited today to spend a gift card I was lucky enough to get for a recent birthday. Service was friendly and at the right pace. My wife and I both had the Spiced Lamb which was really tender and plenty of veg all with the...right amount of spices, followed by a shared sticky toffee pudding. All in all a great Sunday lunch.More

My wife and I decided to pop by for breakfast as it was a warm morning at 19° even at 9.50am, and it was forecast to be the hottest day of the year thus far. We perused the menu which was quite impressive and politely...requested that we sit at one of the tables outside what with it being so warm, also my wife being disabled needed a seat to rest her leg as her prosthetic becomes more uncomfortable in hot weather. We were told that they didn't serve food outside and that we had to sit inside, and that they didn't serve drinks till after 9.00am. It was after 8:55 at this point and we only asked for two Lattes, meanwhile another couple were being served a pot of tea outside! We we're also told that they were busy when there were only two small families in there if that. It was clear by the expressions on the faces of the staff that they just weren't interested so we left disappointed in our experience and took our business elsewhere. Here's the thing; about half an hour later I passed by the establishment on my way home (around 9:30/9:40) to see folk sitting at the outside tables with full plates of food! We are now just confused and disappointed as to why we were refused our small and simple request but at least we now know to go elsewhere which us a shame as we live locallyMore

We have been here many times recently for lunch but this time we came for breakfast. The staff were busy but we had booked a table.we ordered different things I had full English breakfast. Omg it was truly food heaven. Everything cooked perfectly, poached eggs...were lovely and the hash browns (something I normally don't get) were homemade with chorizo and tasted fabulous. We waited a while but this was expected due to how busy it was. But it was worth the wait. Definitely be going again.More

I was there this morning 4th August . Lovely place but service was really bad. 3 adults and 5 children, not all of us were eating but everyone got their drinks/food at different times. I ended up eating my sausage sandwich on my own after...a very long wait. Shame really as my daughter and grandsons were visiting from Yorkshire so on a tight timeline. Don't think the family were impressedMore

First visit for me and my mate (his recommendation). The gaff is well put together. Fixtures and fittings are good quality. A very warm welcome from the staff. In fact, all the staff were welcoming and attentive. Good first impressions. Me and my mate were...tantalised by the rump steak, egg and potatoes! I had a white americano and my pal went for a cappuccino. The steak, egg and pots were beautifully cooked and presented. You get man? The only metaphorical fly in the ointment was the seasoning. We both found the amount of salt on the pots to be a real barrier to culinary ecstasy. You can add salt but can’t take it away and we were both gutted. We did pass on our comments to the staff. Otherwise, the food was great. Would we return? You betcha we would. But would need to clarify the seasoning position before ordering.More
