Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Staff were pleasant and the place looks nice but that was as good as it got. Had to wait ages for food and when it arrived you could barely call it food. I’d ordered the tapas option but it was all tasteless, bland and over...cooked. Most of the things being served had been deep fried and were covered in grease. I’d go as far to say it’s the worst food I’ve been served in a restaurant. We were there for 2 hours, over lunch time, we were the only customers there and not another person came in the whole time we were there which obviously shows what the local people think of the place. Would never go back.More

Wont be back. Went for two Sunday Dinners, quality of food was rubbish! Trio of meats - more like slither of meats and the beef well that was none existent. See photo Both dinners were cold, one sent back and was returned swimming in gravy....Such a let downMore

Very slow service, no bread as described with the soup, there was spillages and food on the floor from previous night, staff seemed to be inexperienced. When we went in at 12.20 we were told they needed the table back at 14.00!! Our main didn't...arrive till 1325 so we felt rushed to leave at 1400 or just before. This is our 2nd and last visit to the Bank restaurant.More

3 of us visited for Sunday lunch in the upstairs restaurant. We were the only people there before it started to fill up a bit. As well as traditional Sunday lunch there were 2 or 3 other dishes on offer, though the Tapas offer shown...on their website as available Sunday no longer is. Our meals were pretty good. Creamy mushroom starters and halloumi fries kept 3 of us busy. For mains we had beef brisket, chicken and pork. The chicken was tiny! The beef and pork both got thumbs up and the vegetables and Yorkshire puds served were also good. Only our resident dessert eater could manage one to herself (sticky toffee pudding) whilst the other 2 of us shared a brownie with ice cream and raspberry coulis. Tasty. 3 courses were around £25 from memory. The only downside was that service was painfully slow, taking around 2 hours from start to finish which was ironic as we’d been told they’d need the table back after 75 minutes.More

Amazing breakfast! I’ve been to the bank before for drinks and have always had a great experience. The staff are lovely and the drinks are fab (loads of choice and reasonably priced) but today we opted for the breakfast. A Bankers Breakfast (full English) and...eggs Benedict - really lovely and so much food on the full English! Coffees were strong and creamy, exactly what you want first thing in the morning!! Just lovely and again the people who work there are super nice. 100/10 recommend. Will absolutely be visiting again for a Sunday dinner as have heard these are wonderful too!More

I know now that I should have complained when I was there but I didn’t want to spoil the meal for other friends. Loving fish I ordered sea bass served with Pak Choi sprinkled with sesame seeds. A light fresh meal just what I fancied....What arrived was three small completely overcooked pieces of fish fried so crisp you could snap them served on a bed of brown mush that contained a variety of overcooked veg with an Asian flavour and a few bean sprouts. It was disgusting and I should have sent it back but we had all waited nearly an hour for our food and other people were all reasonably happy with what they had chosen. It cost me £16 ! I will not be rushing back.More

The staff make this place - always smiley & helpful. Their description of the menu is a delight to listen to. The food matches the description. The atmosphere is a "relaxed class". The mind-boggling variety of available food makes to want to keep coming back....Nibbles & wine are my favourites.More

Friendly staff, great food. Plenty to choose from especially if a veggie as one of us was. Tasty veggie burger with sweet potato fries. Only fault food wasn’t piping hot but it was thoroughly enjoyed. Definitely visiting again.

As it was a special occasion we Asked for a table upstairs only to be given it in the bar. When questioned about it the attitude was shocking, where is the customer service?! No starters were ordered. Main meals came after waiting a very long...time. Once the meals arrived not one person asked if we wanted sauce or salt and pepper ( we had to get up and ask ourselves) infact it took that long for a pot of tomato sauce to come I could of nipped across the road myself and bought some quicker from the shop! In my beef dinner I pulled a long blonde hair out of my Yorkshire pudding, disgusting! Because no one came over to see if everything was ok with the meals I had to personally hand it over at the bar. Just awful! We had ordered puddings too but that also took so long my husband decided he didn’t want his. 2.5 hours in total which is ridiculous! I never will go back for food or drink the attitude and service is terrible.More
