I could go on about how Tony, Glyn and and their close-knit team combine to produce a fun, friendly, family-style service. I could mention the satisfaction I get from seeing this glorious C16th building in it's latest incarnation giving pleasure to happy diners, night after...More

What a fabulous idea - they were lovely and really good when you don't want the hassle of eating out. We ate back here later as well and enjoyed our meal too.

We spent a week in Fowey and ate here twice. The mussels and country pate were delicious. Very nice atmosphere and good service.

Its not on the front and its not swish, BUT, it has a good wine list, the food is good, the service is friendly and prompt. Came here twice - cancelling another reservation the 2nd time. The aperitifs menu is interesting - an interesting range...More

Having turned up on a Monday evening to find they couldn't accommodate us as they were closed for food (we had booked), the owner, who happened to be on the premises, swiftly put matters right and booked us in for the Wednesday evening with the...More

I think roast Sunday lunch is out of season only. The restaurant wasn't very busy which seems a shame as the roast was superb, beautifully cooked and lots of veggies, three roast potatoes and a big Yorkshire pudding. Enough gravy to keep even me happy....More

We were lucky enough to have a table without booking in advance. Good choice for all 3 courses. Each course is a set price. Great host and service. Food amazing! The rum sauce on the desert was the best thing I have ever tasted! Well...More

We were recommended The Globe by our friends, so we made sure we booked in advance. On arrival we waiting around for 5 minutes waiting to be greeted, with only the sound of the chef's foul mouthed rant echoing from the kitchen. We were finally...More

Thank you for your excellent review. However I would like to respond if I may as I may have some issues with the fundamentals of said review. These are as follows. You entered the restaurant at 7.30pm. I know it was 7.30pm precisely because at...More

Really great food, lovely veggie Sunday lunch too. Nut roast a little dry but full of flavour. Excellent range of fresh vegetables and the beef was also good. Friendly waiting staff and reasonably priced. Recommend, plus they are open when all the other pubs stop...More

What a lovely friendly welcoming restaurant!! We saw online that despite looking quite high end, dogs were welcome. This was so nice for us as we fancied a change from pub food. Some of the other (older stuffy) diners seemed alarmed when we arrived with...More

Originally a Posting House where people could 'hire' horses and get 'victuals', The Globe has been in Fowey for around 400 years. It has had many guises over the years but has always been a place of hospitality. Since taking over the building in March this year, it has been our philosophy to produce fantastic food using the very best ingredients Cornwall has to offer along with the warmest Cornish hospitality. Our Head Chef, Glynn Wellington, is Fowey born and bred, and proud to be Cornish and utilise the wonderful produce on our doorsteps. You may see him collecting the bread from Quay Bakery, just 50 yards away from the restaurant, or picking wild garlic in the fields around Fowey. Our meat comes from Kittows of Kilhallon just 3 miles away, and our mussels from beds about a mile away by sea. Our coffee is hand roasted here in Cornwall and our beers are all brewed in St Austell. Even our bubbly is Cornish from the award winning Camel Valley, near Bodmin. Over the coming months we will be restoring the letting rooms upstairs to their former glory and then be able to offer the finest Cornish food, drink and hospitality, right here in the heart of Fowey.
