Nice setting but the fare on offer is nothing remarkable. Tired menu that hasn't changed from the Fox & Castle. Way short of being a Gastro pub...disappointing option to eat but as a pub still has charm.

Thanks snowysfather for your review. We're glad you liked some of what we do and note your comments regarding air conditioning. It's a 500 year old building with planning restrictions so i'm not sure that is something we could get done. But you know what,...More

Right in the heart of Egham, this traditional pub has great beers, good food and excellent service. There is plenty of outside space for those hot days and a good covered area with a big screen for when is not.

Amazing place to stumble in! Great beers, and the food was amazing. Between our group we had all the classics, fish n chips, bangers and mash, beef pie, and even a burger, and everyone was impressed!!

Went for a burger and an ale with a friend. Pleasantly surprised by the cracking food, and the service from the barman (chris?) was brilliant. Ale was decent, but they need more selection. 5*.More

The Red Lion recently (March 2014) completed a £350,000 refurbishment and now offers a fantastic pub/restaurant option in the heart of Egham town centre. In addition to our two regular real ales (Harvey's, Sussex Best & Purity's Mad Goose)we offer an ever changing list of four other guest ales. Our draught lager range includes Peroni & Becks, ciders are Aspals & Thatchers as well as a great choice of bottled fruit ciders. We stock all leading spirit brands and a wine list offering more than 20 wines all available by the glass and bottle. Our menu is based on home cooked British Pub classic dishes. Our head chef sources as much produce as he can from local suppliers. All meat, fish and vegetables are delivered daily from locally renowned suppliers. We have a great al fresco dining area, we show sports via SKY & BT and for those that prefer conversation to sport we have a TV free section. We feature entertainment on weekends and great friendly service at all times. Check out our website for full event details, menus and loads of pictures. We look forward to welcoming you to our pub.
