Since Gilles and Roni have taken over Bar 163 in the Spring I regularly visit and am always made to feel very welcome. I am particularly partial to the warm Goats Cheese Salad – absolutely delicious, but there are many other tasty things on the...Menu. They have bottled Belgian beers (reasonably priced) which range from 4% - 10%! The music is always nice and soothing and not too loud so you can have a conversation without having to shout. It’s so good to see that the front of house team have settled in well, working hard and in harmony which makes for happy customers. Of course, the Function Room upstairs is a hidden gem and can be booked for up to 50 people (buffet) or 40 for a sit down meal. If you have 60 guests then you can take over all of the downstairs restaurant. The best thing is that there is no booking fee for the function room or taking over the restaurant.More

We live locally to Bar 163 but had never visited for dinner. We decided to book for a last minute birthday celebration and had such an amazing meal! To start we had the chilli prawns and pork ribs, followed by the 12oz ribeye steak and...goats cheese salad. The food was all amazing and the ambience made it even better! It’s often hard to find a cosy restaurant for dinner locally as often it’s more of a restaurant in a pub, so this was a great find! We’ll definitely be back.More

Live local and visited twice in one week with friends. Lunch during week was great, the cornflake breaded chicken burger was very good as was the chips and the omelette. Nice atmosphere and service. Place wasn’t busy. Sat morning brunch just before lunch menu was...busy. Service was slow (took us nearly 30 mins to be brought our drinks) and staff were visibly and verbally a bit overwhelmed, however the bfasts were very good (full English and eggs royale). Shame brunch isn’t served till later on weekends.More

A lovely dining experience. I took my wife and two year old to Bar 163 today, and I was blown away by the fantastic hospitality and food. The restaurant is what I’d call the perfect ‘hideaway dining spot’, with the right amount of candles, lighting...and seating. The food was top notch, and the staff ever so friendly. I live locally but hadn't visited for a little while so decided to visit last night and so glad we did! The food was excellent - such a generous serving of tempura prawns and the katsu curry was, not only beautifully/imaginatively presented as well as...using impeccable ingredients, but it was also a really large size with so much chicken! The two ladies working last night were very attentive and friendly, it was lovely for our dog to be welcomed and the interior was so cosy with the imaginative decor and lovely candles - we will 100% be back and wouldn't hesitate to recommend!More

I was there with my family of 4. Two of us had different Thai curries. There was barely 2 spoonfuls of rice and hardly any food on the plate. Very very poor value for money. This restaurant was always a good place to go with...lovely food but not anymore. The wine was warm and other people were saying the same. There are plenty of other places to eat.More

Delightful dinner at Bar 163, the bread was particularly fresh and excellent, service was friendly for an all round outstanding experience.

Amazing food great atmosphere really busy, I haven’t enjoyed a meal out so much for a long time I had the special seafood linguine which was so tasty and fresh. We will definitely be going back

What a lovely spot in Egham with a sunny terrace out the back and a little balcony overlooking the high street. I went there for a business lunch, the staff were very friendly, nothing was too much trouble and the food was delicious, all home...made and beautifully presented. Have not been here for sometime so we were pleasantly surprised to see major improvements in terms of service, food quality & choice and a high standard of professionalism . All was spot on great service and high food quality. Maybe they could change the...layout of the Breakfast Menu , it looks odd in a simple type face minor point.More

We l ove this restaurant, the new menu,the garden, AND the lovely team who ensure a warm welcome! It's gone from quirky local bistro to a more professional, friendly, lovely place for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. A treasure in the heart of Egham.
