Having dropped into Christchurch as part of our 7 night caravan stay nearby, we looked for somewhere to grab a bite for lunch. Thee are lots of places to chose from but we dropped in here. A delightful little coffee bar/cafe with great quality food at reasonable prices for the area. I had The Scottish on brown bread with a pot of tea and the wife had The Sizzling Sausage also on brown with a Diet Coke.
The bread was fresh, light and tasty as was the cream cheese and Salmon. Creamy coleslaw on the side was also very tasty. The wife thoroughly enjoyed her sizzling sausage of which there was plenty in the sandwich. A good two and a half cups of tea from my pot satisfied my thirst perfectly.
Staff were very polite, well presented and friendly. Couldn’t be more helpful. Various seating options from a comfy couch to high top tables. Despite the seating we didn’t feel crowded at all. Though we stayed away from the cakes , there was a gods display of delicious looking cake to go with a coffee if your not having lunch.
All in all we were more than happy with our little lunch stop. Thanks Coast Coffee team!

I popped into Coast Coffee for something hot and tasty today as it is so cold outside.
The menu had lots to choose from and I opted for the Chicken Noodle Soup. The service was quick and friendly and the soup came out promptly and steaming hot :) The icing on the cake was simply that the soup was DELICIOUS! It certainly hit the spot with warming me up for the afternoon!

A great find, apologies if we have missed you on previous visits to Christchurch.
We spend two weeks a year here (one in early July and one early in September) , live just outside Brighton.
Always stay at Hoburne Naish but often breakfast in Christchurch, Coast Coffee is now tip of the list.
Excellent coffee, really good food snd dogs welcome - can't ask for more.

Just paid £10 for what was in effect some pre cooked pancakes that were then nuked in the microwave to the point where you couldn’t get the knife through them.
Some scotch pancakes for 79p from the supermarket would have tasted better.
Looked like it would be a lovely place to visit but certainly won’t be returning.

Been to Christchurch today with my father who’s disabled. Walked into cafe at 3:15 and floors already being cleaned. I asked if they were closing and was told no, but the free tables had chairs stacked up so we couldn’t sit down and we weren’t offered a table despite standing there keen to sit down. At 4:03 I walked back in the cafe to grab a takeaway coffee, to overhear a staff member say to the girl who was still cleaning ‘tell her we’re closed now’… I said that I was hoping for a takeaway drink and they said no, we’re closed. I just found this strange as online the cafe is advertised as being open until 4:30pm. This is the second time I’ve received really poor service at this cafe and I’ll never go back. It really felt like the staff couldn’t wait to get out of there and the customer service deserves a zero rating. It’s a shame as they sell Bad Hand coffee!

The first visit months back didn't go well as it was very evident the knife etc used to prepare it hadn't been cleaned from whatever they had been used for previously. I was given a free coffee as compensation. So today I went in to claim my free coffee and ordered a sandwich. It was easily the meanest tuna sandwich I have ever been served. There was very little filling, more mayo than tuna, and what there was was confined to the middle of the sandwich with a big gap around the edges. Safe to say there won't be a third visit to this Coast.

Having used Coast regularly for many years I am disappointed in the change in service over the last year or so as what was 5 star is now 3 at best due to the slow service. On a recent visit I noticed that 2 customers who had come in after me had been served before me, when I queried this I was told that as they had ordered take away there were served first. I believe in first come first serve so because of this policy Coast has lost a customer who was in most days. WiFi has been down for some time it shows as available but cannot connect to it. I agree with a previous reviewer that it is need of brightening up as it looks very tired mainly due to a mixture of tables and chairs

As a regular customer of Coast for many years, it's with disappointment that I say I won’t be returning. Over the years, under three different owners, I’ve had nothing but positive experiences, with the place being a family favorite thanks to its welcoming atmosphere, excellent specials, and extensive menu. However, my most recent visit was anything but pleasant.
The once vibrant menu is now drastically shortened, stripping away the unique dishes that made Coast stand out. To add to this, the coffee, which used to be great, was an absolute letdown. I ordered a coffee with syrup over the weekend, only to receive a burnt-tasting drink with no trace of the syrup. After sending it back, the replacement arrived no sweeter
It wasn't just the coffee—my food experience was equally disappointing. I ordered a panini, which arrived incorrect and barely toasted. After sending it back, the corrected panini finally appeared toasted, but the coronation chicken filling was overloaded with curry powder, making it inedible.
The biggest change, however, seems to be in the staff. What was once a place run with care and warmth now feels like it's been taken over by inexperienced, young staff who lack both knowledge and customer service skills. The family-run vibe that made Coast so charming has completely vanished.
Having heard others say the place had gone downhill, I now see that for myself. Coast has lost not only its atmosphere but also the quality of food and service that once made it great. It’s such a shame to see a local favorite lose its way, and unfortunately, they’ve also lost a loyal customer.

Was excited to come here for the coffee as love bad hand coffee. Food was lovely but the coffee was bitter and milk over frothed. Can make a better coffee at home. I did see there was a young chap possibly about 15 who was on the coffee merchine. He was lovely but obviously needs training. If you are going to sell good coffee then you need to do it properly. You are giving the brand a bad name. Food really lovely although a bit overpriced but I guess it's in a good location. Nice people and atmosphere.

Popped in for a quick lunch and a coffee and was not disappointed. My husband had a bacon and brie panini and stated it was the best panini he had ever had. I had a cornation chicken sandwich. Both really generous portions and lots of filling! Also had a latte too which was lovely. Staff were happy to help and very friendly.

Nice place , first time been in there. Had a raffle ticket for a charity and won £5.00.
Had a coffee and cake came to £5.88, so only paid 88p.
Seemed very popular with families, treat for the children after school.

The coffee was great and the staff were nice and it has a cool feeling about it. Very hot inside though. My friend was told there was only a hint of mustard in the rarebit, not the case. My Caesar salad looked beautiful but had no dressing at all. With the parmesan cheese it was so dry I couldn't eat it. We were also being buzzed by little flies like fruit flies. That may not be their fault though, but I lost my appetite so didn't ask for dressing and it could have been an oversight. It's a very busy place. The coffee was delicious and very strong. I would definitely go back for the coffee.

Perfect place for lovers of good club sandwiches and homemade breakfasts. Excellent pancakes and very good coffees from selected producers. The lunch menu is very complete with specialties (jackets potatoes for example)

We have been weekly customers of Coast for years but today will be our last visit. We ordered simple snacks and waited ages for it to be served. After reminders and nothing we eventually asked for a refund and left. I was told they were busy, well we have been there many times when they have been as busy but never experienced anything like today which appeared chaos. If you can't cope you should restrict the number of customers to a level you can cope with and then loyal customers do not get disappointed.

Wonderful friendly efficient staff. Dog friendly offered a fresh bowl of water for dog. Ate pancakes and bacon which was a decent size serving and good price with a tasty bad hand coffee. Gave me energy for my return journey.
