Staying locally on holiday thought we would treat ourselves to a take out after long journey. Thought it was a bonus to order online so no waiting in shop. When arrived not busy but they couldn’t find our order.Did eventually! Phone calls being taken with...people complaining that their orders were incomplete or incorrect items. Chaotic to say the least! Got home to find things missing from our bagged up ready order. What we had was cold, very greasy and fish was dry and overcooked. We called to say we only got half our order and we’re told sorry as you ordered online we can’t refund. Customer care appalling. This place must rely on unsuspecting tourists as can’t imagine local people being being regulars. Never again what a waste of money and time.More

Terrible pick up times for a nice family meal. Half of the order was missing and we phoned up, only for the staff to tell us, “Sorry no refunds for online orders.” The food was also dry, cold and tasteless. I would not recommend, as...all you would receive is handful of grease, terrible service, and half your order missing.More

Living locally, this always used to be our chippy of choice in Bude, but alas, it’s changed… tonight - astronomical prices and unpleasant food of which half was thrown away - over-cooked, dry chicken and a cremated chicken burger… time for somewhere different…

Poxy portions for an astronomical price. Couldnt tell the difference in size between a small and a regular cod and the large portions of chips were not large by any means. Typical overpriced tourist spot with naff portions of ok food at rip off prices.

The man who is called Dan was absolutely so accommodating friendly and very professional and also was the lady dishing up our order unfortunately though we had one major issue and that was with a very rude lady who was somewhere out the back when...asked if she could help she shouted NO people like her shouldn’t be allowed to work with the public shame on her for letting such a lovely place down (I believe her name was Lyn or something like that) other than her the place was very professional and the food was amazingMore

Would highly recommend, myself and my friend went for a drive out to bude, went into the Plaice the staff were very friendly and helpful, the fish and chips were absolutely delicious will definitely be making a return vist

Awful! AVOID AT ALL COSTS! We ordered our food for collection when staying in Widemouth Bay, staff were rude and unfriendly, and when we got home realised half our order was missing! We’re locals who regularly used to come here and even had the Plaice cater for our wedding last year. I took my little boy here tonight at 1715 and ordered two lots of chips, some nuggets and two sausages. It took the staff who were...more interested in parking about over 20 minutes to figure out how to cook and bag up our dinner, which by some miracle the chips were cold, even though we were second in the queue. Honestly the staff could not care less about the customers and a sorry with a false smile was all we got. I was overcharged and after hearing the refund service another customer received I couldn’t be bothered to wait the 2-5 working days for the refund (which was probably how long the folks at the back of the queue had to wait for their chips). Literally will never return here again. Shocking attitudeMore

The only GF fish and chip shop in the town. Placed our order online early to avoid disappointment Arrived early to collect. Chaotic, is an understatement. No order, no system and it would appear no idea. We were assured several times that our GF order...was ready but after 30 minutes advised GF fryer broken. Our fish supper on the beach scuppered. The plaice gave us a full refund, thank you. But if it’s like this May, it’s going to be somewhat of a challenge in the heights of SunniMore

Last year I gave this fish shop, not such a good review Obviously I caught it on a bad night, we went today and the haddock chips and mushy peas were outstanding, good polite service aswell. I would certainly recommend this place, no pun intended...Thankyou Ray & Marg CMore
