Had an amazing evening with some of the best food we’ve had in a long time and delicious cocktails to accompany. Were the first ones in for the evening and greeted by plenty of smiling faces as we had a Pre-Dinner drink downstairs. My partner had the margarita recommended by the barman whilst I went for the Bramble, both of which were superb and would lead to quite a few more being drank through the night. We then went to the beautiful upstairs space and sat with views looking out on to the town, the atmosphere is great with enjoyable music but calm to be able to actually have a good natter. We’d heard lots about Olly’s cooking as relative foodies but were still blown away. To have genuine quality that you’d find in Michelin level restaurants in Bude is just amazing. The sweetbreads were dreamy, the local venison dish is still one I’m thinking about daily and the desserts saw it all off perfectly. The service remained excellent throughout the evening led by Nikki. Importantly, even as they got busier, all the staff were still smiling and continually making sure we were all sorted and the waitresses who looked after us did a fab job. We’ve got a few more trips already scheduled as it’s an amazing spot for a monthly treat. Prices might be higher than most spots in Bude but are complete value for money and a better comparison would be to Cornwall’s existing best restaurants. For this early into the opening, astounded at what they’ve achieved. Couldn’t recommend more. Thank you and well done Olly, Nikki and the team.

Visited Potters over the weekend and it did not disappoint! We came for brunch the first time and ordered the poached eggs and crushed avocado and Eggs Royale - it was so good we found ourselves coming back here multiple times! The coffee is great and the freshly made donuts are to die for! On Saturday evening we were booked in for cocktails and dinner, and although the place was fully booked, the food and the service were exceptional! The food is locally sourced and delicious and the chef was more than happy to accommodate for dietary requirements. The waitresses were happy, friendly and attentive throughout the evening, always smiling despite being busy. The atmosphere was very relaxed and as a first meal out during the pandemic I felt incredibly safe. Well done to Nikki & Oly and their team! Can't wait to come back to Potters soon!

When my wife and I arrived at Potters we were disappointed to find that the restaurant was fully booked. However, the bar staff made us feel incredibly welcome and offered us ‘bar snacks’ instead. I can honestly say that, having ordered one of each from a menu which ncluded venison scotch egg, mushroom arancini and parmesan and truffle fries, it was more like a taster menu in a Michelin-starred restaurant than conventional bar snacks. As such, we can’t wait to go back and try the main restaurant. Highly recommended - thank you Potters!

The restaurant that Bude has needed and deserved for some time. Everything about the interior, front of hosue staff, seating and setting is inviting, welcoming and acts as a true reflection of the town and area it inhabits. A restaurant that serves food of this wonderfully high standard is so often let down by stuffiness and pretention, something which would certainly not be said of Potters, where you are able to sit and chat with friends in a compeltely relaxed and friendly environment whilst being well and truly spoilt by the service and offerings. The food itself is sleek, seasonal and wonderfully tasty, with a small but perfectly formed menu. Each element of every dish tried felt consdiered and the overall experience of the meal expertly curated. We left discussing what else we'd like to try on our next visit; a good sign. A really wonderful restaurant and one that will undoubtedly go from strength to strength; Cornwall has got itself another gem

The immediate modern and lofi hip hop ambience is refreshing and comforting simultaneously. The sunlight gleaming through the large windows lights up the experience and the tables are set in an inviting manner. The service is excellent and one is able learn how the elements of their meal is combined and where the local and fresh ingredients are sourced. The set menu is brilliant and varied, and I especially recommend the tomato and courgette risotto. (The sweet essence of the tomato contrasts perfectly with the savoury rice). There are many starting dishes, such as salted butter with bread or small pots of soup which are so heartwarming and flavoursome. There are also beautiful paintings for sale upon the walls and while you may not perhaps buy one, they aid in creating a friendly and exciting atmosphere. What stands out most about this place is truly the breathtaking combinations of seasonal ingredients and the mouthwatering feeling of them coming together in your mouth. The originality, the ingenious decor and the friendly atmosphere only goes to show how truly great this place is. Thank you for such a good evening!

Set perfectly in the town centre. Potters brings a mix of fine dining, ambient atmosphere and staff that go above and beyond to deliver a first class dining experience. I cannot recommend this restaurant enough. Thanks to all of the team there for looking after us, so attentive. We will be back very soon. Incredible!

Came to Potters with two friends, we all had different bits from the menu and none of us could pick a favourite course, all of the food was that nice and delicious. The interior of Potters was very nice aesthetically, and all the staff were very welcoming which was great creating a really positive and welcoming environment. I myself had the Mushroom and Squash Tart, along with the Venison, finishing with the Chocolate dessert, and it was all amazing. Nicely presented, tasting very nice too. As for the service, Megan and the other server, who's name escapes me unfortunately, were great. Always checking in, making sure everything was okay, attentive to all the tables and we never felt rushed whatsoever, adding to the great atmosphere at Potters. Overall, for a first visit, it was perfect for me and my friends, and would very much recommend if you visit Potters!

On a very damp chilly day in Bude we found " Potters". As we walked through the door we were made to feel very welcome. We were greeted warmly by a friendly waitress, we were invited to sanitise our hands and shown to a lovely seating area by the window which was very comfortable. As we were peckish having driven some distance I chose the poached egg with avocado on a generous slice of sourdough bread also enjoyed a warming cup of coffee. We enjoyed it so much we asked if any tables were free for dinner over the coming few days fortunately we could book for the Friday evening. On arrival we chose a cocktail which was very elegantly served. We were shown to our table up stairs in the window over looking the green. The table and tableware was spotlessly clean, it glistened . From the menu I chose the locally sourced steak cooked to my liking medium it was perfect and melted in my mouth, served with a portion of tasty three way chips and a parmesan and rocket salad, all fresh local ingredients. Also served piping hot! The waitress's were very efficient and had cheerful smiley faces and wearing a smart casual uniform and comfy brogue shoes they do walk a lot during service! I could not resist dessert I had the dark chocolate delice which was deliciously rich! The ambiance of Potter's was calm and relaxed considering how busy the restaurant was. We sat comfortably social distanced away from other guests we felt safe and not crowded. We had a very enjoyable evening out. We returned to Potters many times for coffees to warm over the next few days. I also had a passion fruit donut What a yummy treat!! Well done to Nikki and Oly and their hard working contentious team. We wish you all the very best in your relatively new business venture! We will be back very soon!

We came to eat for a 50th birthday treat and staff were very friendly and attentive. All my partners food was absolutely delicious (halibut in particular) and the wine was lovely. On the downside, we had booked because we thought there were numerous options for vegan but we must have been mistaken as unfortunately it was one starter (some raw tomatoes with an olive crumb which resembled crumbled rubber matting, sorry) and one main, risotto. Not being a huge lover of rice I ordered it anyway but unfortunately had to send it back twice as it was too al dente for me to eat. Staff were very understanding and took money off the bill and were absolutely lovely about it. I felt bad for chef, but if you’re only going to offer one thing and pitch it at this price, then not only should you ask the customer how they would like it cooked, it should be then cooked as requested by customer the second time - ie “not al dente at all please but really very well cooked”. If you are not vegan however, then the food here is probably worth splashing out on.

We had dinner there on Saturday 17 October. The cuisine there is absolutely delicious and, in my opinion, good value for money. As far as I was concerned, time stopped I was so enjoying the moment. The selection of dishes and wine is good and the service is attentive without being intrusive. The decoration is modern, stylish and a good background to artist's paintings exhibited there. I would happily recommend it to friends and we are planning another visit very soon.

Went to Potters for the first time last night and was not disappointed. Excellently presented, well laid out and extremely covid safe. Didn't have to wait long for the starters or mains to arrive, both of which were executed perfectly. Ample portion sizes and incredible flavour combinations which worked on every level as well as delivering great value for money. Staff were very attentive and knowledgeable, especially Nikki and Megan who dealt with us throughout our night. Cannot recommend highly enough and will definitely be returning!

I went to bude recently and had breakfast on my own here one morning. Coffee was great, service good and friendly. I had the poached egg and mushroom which was sooooo tasty, i always worry about eggs being cooked wrong when I go out for breakfast but this was perfect. Sadly it was a bit of a small portion, could've done with an extra bit of sourdough bread (only had x1), maybe even an extra egg considering it was about £7. I asked for some more toast and ended up being given bread and butter (for £4.. not exactly worth it but nice either way). I would've ordered a smoothie to go with this and bulk it up, but they weren't serving them yet. I imagine dinner is the same, a bit over priced but you'll definitely get some good food so treat yourself.

We visited for our anniversary whilst on holiday and were unfortunately left feeling extremely disappointed. We’d been given a table by the window and there was a lovely handwritten card for us but we then had to spend most of the evening with the curtains fully drawn so that other guests in the restaurant weren’t blinded by the setting sun. I’d suggest looking into blinds of some form to help manage this better given the restaurant faces West. Whilst the food was delicious, and we loved the fact it was locally sourced, there wasn’t much of it given the final bill came to almost £200. The gnocchi main course was delicious but only contained six pieces of gnocchi; more like a starter than a main course. The worst part was the slow service. It really was AGONISINGLY slow; we were close to just leaving and asking to pay for the starters and drinks. We were seated at 7:25pm but our mains were not served until 9:10pm. This was after us politely chasing them up twice. There were only nine tables! During this very very long wait not once did anyone apologise or come over to the table to check if we wanted more drinks or to offer us more nibbles/bread while we waited. The 4 x young women serving seemed to be lacking in training and need to have a more experienced staff member on site to oversee things. They didn’t know how to respond and manage things when we asked how much longer we were going to have wait for our food. When dessert was served we were randomly given three dishes instead of two which was a little baffling and they were just put down on the table without any explanation. One of the waitresses then came back several minutes later to explain that the third dessert was an apology for the long wait, which is obviously what we’d assumed. A better approach in these circumstances would be to take the drinks off the bill or to offer a discount; most people don’t want to eat two desserts at dinner!! It didn’t seem fair to keep complaining to the young women though as they were very polite and well-meaning and just trying their best; it’s not their fault that they haven’t been adequately trained and that things aren’t being managed properly. What a shame to be so disappointed by an expensive meal that we’d booked to mark a special occasion!

Jenny must have been unlucky as we dined last night and were very impressed. Usually have to travel to Padstow for a quality meal but not ant longer. The Margaritas were delicious and the South African white was chilled to perfection and reasonable priced. The food was outstanding, best risotto and the sea bass was also lovely. Both deserts were again outstanding a pear creation and something with duck egg! So moorish. Even the coffee was good. Certainly no complaints and the service was not rushed but professionally served by delightful staff, full marks.

The restaurant had just reopened after lockdown and we were amongst the first diners on a wet, chilly evening in Bude. We received a very warm welcome and we’re shown upstairs to our window table. Throughout the meal service was attentive and friendly. The very short menu still provided enough to sustain interest, although, in keeping with the decor of the restaurant descriptions of each choice was minimalist. The food was cooked expertly and the presentation was exemplary. The choice of ‘apricot with honey ice cream’ provided us with one of the most interesting desserts we have ever been offered. We knew that the meal was going to be on the expensive side - expect £50 per head without drinks and you won’t be far off for a three course dinner. We had a window view from our table - it was rather cold despite having turned on the nearby radiator. Suggest double glazing may be a good investment for the future
