Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I keep coming back as this place is just beautiful. It feels magical. Very oldy worldy. The best home made cakes and afternoon teas. This time round I had a sandwich with the nicest thick soft bread. Fresh ham and home made chutney. There’s even...a selection for dairy and gluten free which is hard to find for a tearoom. Exceptional. Feels really cosy and the staff a Lee super nice and helpful. Thank you!More

We walked here on the coast path from duckpool beach and stopped for lunch. The ambience and food were just what we had hoped for. Quiche and salads washed down by a nice beer followed by a very nice slice of spiced apple cake. Just...had to find the energy to walk back!More

Treated ourselves to an amazing cream tea before setting out on the coast path. Quaint decor in keeping with historic building. Staff were lovely and even let us use the landline as no mobile signal here.

Came highly recommended and we were not disappointed. Great food and service. Scones are large and the jam home made - delicious.

Great location, particularly if walking the coast path. A group of us visited for a light lunch and received a warm welcome. The food was nice, but I thought £13 for a sandwich and small coffee was a bit expensive. Also, £11 for a pasty!...The £10 large cream tea did look amazing though.More

Went for a cream tea mid afternoon. Ate in the garden as with our dog, joined by an army of wasps. Feel this needs addressing as all on the customers were affected. Everything else was nice, staff, food and drinks.

We found this charming tearooms to be excellent. The service was amazing, despite being extremely busy and an unexpected problem with their card machine, the staff were helpful, courteous and could not do enough for you. The cream tea was the best I have ever...had with warm handmade scones made on the premises, delicious clotted cream and strawberry jam. They also had Rooibos tea leaves and oat milk which helped with my allergies. All in all a really lovely experience and would definitely recommend, many thanks.More

Me and my friends have visited the Tearooms twice. First time was on a rainy day, we were sitting inside and ordered cream tea, savoury tea and daily soup. Everything was amazing! The food was so delicious and people working there were really nice and...helpful. Ambience inside is cozy and full of character. For the second time we were sitting outside in the lovely garden. We went there for some tea and ice cream. I really enjoyed both of my visits there and will come back again.More

A really lovely tea room, beautifully decorated. We ordered cream teas which were delicious. The jam was great. We also ordered a kids meal which was good and included fruits and veg.

Took our grandson who is 8 here for a treat (and me!) The children’s menu was limited. The pizza wasn’t anything special. Loved the large cream tea; eyes bigger than my belly. Scone was large and delicious. The farmhouse salad good too. A slice of...cake will set you back £4.50 We did book because I know it gets busy. We sat at table 1 just inside the door. Enjoyed the quirky decor. Something to look at on every surface and wall. Staff were extremely attentive, friendly and professional. Would recommend a visit.More

Not impressed with this tea rooms £50 for a high tea for 2 is expensive for anywhere outside London. Staff didn’t seem to know what they were doing (and it wasn’t busy). One waitress said we could have a fresh pot of tea once we...had drunk the first but when we asked we were told by someone else we couldn’t. They took the teapot away to put more water in and when they returned they said they had put 1 extra teabag in but not to worry, we wouldn’t get charged! Tea itself could be so much nicer. The scones they make are far too big for this tea and everything was crammed onto the stand so the fillings were spilling out onto adjacent cakes etc. Felt a bit cheated by the whole experience if I am completely honest. Have had some lovely teas in other places in the past and this is well down the list. And feel this establishment has double standards when they say no dogs inside but you can clearly hear dogs in there when it’s closed!More

I'm a bit of an expert in Derbyshire tea stops, but this Cornish establishment measures up to the best of them. I had a Cornish Savoury Tea. Scones freshly baked on the premises. Local cheese. Just fabulous, and the staff were all lovely.

There was plenty of choice I really don't think it'll be a problem to ask for something without those ingredients. If in doubt eat the excellent scones with cream and jam!
