Ordered a variety of tapas and when they arrived we were really pleased with them, everything was so delicious and really good value including a bottle of wine. Even the bread we ordered was excellent and plentiful. There was a lovely atmosphere and we felt very safe as the restaurant were following COVID guidelines and the staff were very attentive. There are outside sheds but we ate inside and were more than happy with the beautiful view over the wetlands. If you're in Bude would highly recommend that you visit The Bank!

I’d heard the legends about this place and so it was with a heady mix of excitement and anticipation that I finally took my seat at The Bank.
Could it live up to its reputation or was I in for a let down? I’m pleased to say it was the former, and then some!
A carefully choreographed COVID entry procedure of sanitising and avoiding getting close to other diners saw us efficiently delivered to our table.
The decor is striking. A delightful mix of modern and traditional furniture with some quite lively wall coverings makes for a very pleasant atmosphere.
The menu is extensive with a range of Cornish style tapas dishes, steaks and lobster. Sadly the lobster was not available due to the appalling sea conditions having seen the fishing fleet confined to port. Whilst this was disappointing it was also a good sign that the only genuinely fresh produce will be used. If it isn’t fresh, it won’t go on the menu for the day.
For tapas, the waiter suggested we order
2 or 3 dishes each and share. This proved to be a good call, the portions are slightly larger than the average Spanish tapas experience and the quantity of food was more than sufficient.
So many great dishes it’s hard to choose a favourite but the prawns in a chilli ginger jam were a real highlight and the chorizo with cheese is a dish I will try at home very soon.
It’s not the cheapest place you will ever eat but we all deserve a treat every now and then and this place most surely delivers on all fronts.
£215.00 for 6 diners with wine and beer, plus we got £60 off that due to the Rishi discount so I really am not complaining.
I can not recommend The Bank too highly, it’s fabulous and I urge to to give it a try if you’re in the area. Booking is essential!
I will most certainly be returning on my next trip to Bude.

This place is a hidden gem. It was recommended by a Facebook page and we decided to go for lunch after booking in. From the moment we arrived the service was 5 stars. A quick hand sanitising and we were shown to our table and actually allowed a bit time to deced what to have to drink. The menu is varied and really well set out with a space provided to allow you to note down your choices (pens provided at the table). All of the dishes we had were exceptional and the service continued to be fantastic. Whilst we were not interrupted other than to check everything is OK we were quickly able to get the waitresses eye to add an extra dish to the order. The atmosphere was wonderful and the music was not to loud as to deter conversation. At roughly 20 pound a head this place is well worth contacting and getting booked into.

My wife booked us a table for this restaurant and We were pleasantly surprised by what we found next to the river at the edge of a industrial estate.
We arrived at 18.55 for our table at 19.00, it was busy with people standing about waiting to be shown to their tables.
A gentleman kindly asks you to use the Covid scan app infront of himself or alternatively you fill in a visitors card each and return it to him.
We later discovered that this is the Owner doing front of house and he was very good, infact All the staff are very good and the restaurant runs like clockwork from our customers view.
We had a small booth to sit in which was actually a wooden shed with upvc window overlooking the river bank.
Not just any wooden shed should I say... this lovely cosy space came with enough space for four diners.
It also had blankets a small heater and even a fan to keep you cool if it was too hot.
Service was quick and easy, a Large clear Menu with instructions was on the table. We just had to tick the boxes on the menu card and when the waitress arrived to take our drinks we passed this to her. Simple :)
I am not going to go into every dish we had to eat.
The food at this restaurant is fantastically presented and tastes like no other with great unusual tastes being put together in colourful pairs.
Choose carefully your Tapas dishes as they complement each other, you will be pleasantly surprised.(the pork was my favourite).
A meal here with desserts and drinks for two is around £70 and well worth every penny.
Dont delay, book a table and give this restaurant a visit 10/10

We have been here on a number of occasions but very disappointed this time round. Seems like they are more concerned with turning round tables to bring money in than looking after customers. We ordered drinks and food, but after food arrived we were not asked once in 45 minutes if we were OK or wanted more drinks etc. Food was bit cold and seemed as if it had been pre cooked and reheated. Did get one of our dishes free but didn't make up for the fact we had paid to stay overnight to go here for dinner and have a few drinks.... Didn't want to wait for more!!

We had such high hopes for this place, we love tapas as well but I'm sorry the food we were served wasn't nice. We were told portions were larger than normal tapas but seemed no larger than any tapas I've ever had. We ordered pork belly which was greasy and chewy, potato bravas which should have a trades description act, chorizo with black pudding which was swimming in grease and not good quality, chicken wings in bbq sauce for my daughter which were over priced, scampi tails with pea and mint which didn't work, scampi was cold and tasteless, meat balls which seemed to be plain meat mince rolled in balls in a tasteless tomato sauce, really bad. With bread, olives and a bottle of house rioja and a mojito and coke £100, quite a lot I felt as I left feeling a little sick. I've no idea where the decent reviews have come from unless they've lost their chef because I'm pretty sure somethings gone wrong here. Wouldn't recommend at all.

We booked online to guarantee a cabin as we had our dog with us. It was great as he could be off lead in our own cabin. We ordered cocktails and sangria and they tasted amazing! We were recommended 2-5/3plates each so we ordered 6in total. We were told they were generous portions and could take whatever home we didn’t eat. We weren’t blown away with the quality of food and we didn’t eat the chicken wings as they weren’t crispy just slimey (which we didn’t get charged for).
The staff were friendly and attentive and we felt safe with all the procedures in place for covid.

We tried unsuccessfully to get a dinner reservation here while we stayed in Bude but we're pleased to find a lunch slot just before we drive home. It is a little out of town but an easy walk and they have parking spaces available. The decor inside and out is so cool and welcoming, the staff were great to rearrange our booking so we could get away a bit earlier to avoid traffic. Everything felt very covid safe with staff wearing have masks and hand sani available all around. The tapas menu was extensive and we were pre warned that they were not small portions so we didn't go top crazy. Fantastic sangria and four tapas to share was perfect for lunch.

This was the best restaurant we visited on our travels between Devon and Cornwall. I would recommend booking well in advance and go for a pod. They are so cosy and we loved it, made a birthday meal really special.
We went for 6 tapas and were comfortably full. They were all good dishes, but our favourites were chorizo and Cornish cheese, caramelised pork belly and garlic prawns. The scallops were nice but only got 3 for £10 and the duck was nice too, but others were tastier. The paprika potatas bravas were delicious.
The only downside was that they don't do dessert, it was so disappointing and we had to go into Bude to get an ice cream. They do offer a cheeseboard but after lots of cheese on our food, we wanted something sweet.
The staff were great and the decor around the restaurant was really cool. I just wanted to take pics of everything! We really liked the fact that they bought out a glass of fizz for my partner (I said on the booking that it was his birthday) which was very thoughtful!
Will definitely go back if we are in the area. Expensive but worth it!!

Six of us came for a meal on Friday. We had three lobsters pre-booked. Absolutely delicious! The other three had six tapas dishes plus triple-cooked chips, the saute potatoes and onions straws, all excellent. The quantities were large, they didn’t need it all but we were given proper boxes to take home for lunch. Particular favourites were the pork belly with crackling, chorizo with cheese and the most tender calamari. Tables were well spaced out. Fantastic views over the canal and river, great for bird watchers. We were really lucky with the weather. Definitely worth booking a table at this unusual venue.

Absolutely cracking meal. Great selection of dishes, all reasonably priced and a good drinks menu as well. We could not fault any of our dishes, each being full of flavour and very well cooked. You could easily be forgiven for thinking you were eating tapas in Spain and not Cornwall! A lovely setting, made even better if you can book a shed. Staff were attentive and helpful, informing us that 2/3 tapas dishes per head is more than enough. This place really is a hidden gem!

Visited with my husband and 3 young children, obviously a very popular place as we booked weeks in advance and an early seating was all that was left!
Lovely, quirky little place. Just shows how different we all are as, contrary to the reviews below, I thought the little wooden pods outside looked absolutely fantastic and was disappointed that they were all booked!
As it happens we had a lovely big table that was relatively private and I noted that we weren't rushed at all - not like in some places where they hover over you. Nothing like that, we enjoyed our food and surroundings at a leisurely place.
We found the food itself exemplary. Unfortunately no lobster left when we visited but everything else more than made up for that. The nibbles board was tasty, patatas bravas great, hubby said chorizo and pork belly were amazing. I prefer the more veggie options and greatly enjoyed the beetroot, goats cheese and horseradish. Kids love seafood and recommend the squid, which they had with the triple cooked chips (tasted really homemade). Loved the quirky cups that the mocktails were served in, my son enjoyed the mint and lime one.
Service was a little curt but professional. Would visit again.

A very special place! We had one of the quirky cosy booths and the service was very personal and attentive. Our Daughter even got a complimentary glass of bubbly for her Birthday. The food was amazing - we ordered 8 dishes between 4 and there was easily enough. Best Olives we have tasted! Scallops particularly great/prawns in garlic/chorizo and Black pudding. Visit and find out for yourselves!

I booked a few weeks in advance and could still only get a 3.15pm table all week so this is a very popular place.
Very friendly staff and great set up. We sat in the pod near the door which is private and seats 5. You can roll up the sides if you want fresh air and this counted as an outside table. It was great because you can feel the air but if it rains stay dry.
The menu is very extensive with something for everyone. Their tag is spanish tapas with a Cornish twist but to be honest it just seemed typical spanish tapas to us. The service was quick and on that note, I would recommend ordering a few dishes at a time as they come very quickly. They don't mention this when you order but the whole point of tapas is it comes quick so you can order as you go. if you want a leisurely lunch then don't order loads at once.
I see another reviewer gave this a one star review because of the seating, which in my opinion is really not justified. I can understand they may have been disappointed with it not actually being outside, but The Bank have really done their best to make this a different and unusual, but covid safe environment that can be used in all weathers.
The toilet (mixed gender) was the cleanest I have seen in any restaurant and they have great covid safety. It is really easy to park and just outside of the town itself.
And lastly the Mojitos are delicious!!

Ordered 6 tapas between 2 of us and was plenty. All what we ordered we thoroughly enjoyed. Also had olives to start and where very nice. Had a 1.5 litre of sangria (for some strange reason they don’t do a litre), was very disappointing was like drinking squash. Even at the end of the evening we didn’t feel as if we’d had any alcohol! Service was slow, we ordered bread and that didn’t come until we had finished 3 of our tapas dishes. Was reasonably priced, will be back to try the paella.
