There are now a couple of Hundred Vineyards in England, all busily growing grapes to produce genuine English Wine. We happened across this one while travelling along the A337, just South of Brockenhurst Village in the New Forest. If you venture into the Farm Shop you will be treated to a free tasting of the Wines which are made from the grapes grown hereabouts. There are White wines, of varying sweetness, plus a Rose and a Red too. In the Past English Red Wines were a bit disappointing, lacking Body and substance, but the one offered at Setley Vineyard is quite acceptable. Obviously it does not compete with the depth and strength of Wines from overseas, but it is fruity, has a bite and is delicate also. There are a variety of Gins on sale also, for those with a palate for that Spirit. Other local produce, Preserves and such-like are sold at the Farm Shop too. Once you have tried and maybe purchased a bottle, or three, you can stroll through the Garden Centre, then refresh yourself at the Tea Rooms, which serves Food, Hot and Cold, plus Cakes and Cream Teas, to be washed down by a variety of Teas and Coffees, or even a glass of the Wine you tasted earlier. There is free Car Parking to the front of the place, which can get very busy on a nice day. Major Credit Cards are accepted.

Great pub food and reassuring safety measures in place. Stop for a tea and the burger and fish cake were excellent!! The kids meals are a bit large for our 6&5 year old but they enjoyed them. Lovely garden and nice little play area. Nothing too boisterous just enough to keep them entertained whilst we enjoyed our drinks

Having recently re-opened (was The Hobler), my husband and I were keen to visit and support Rachel and her business. With an anniversary to celebrate we opted for Tuesday lunch thinking it would be a lot quieter. How wrong we were! Rang up the night before and discovered that fully booked in the garden. Being slightly Covid-anxious we would have liked to have been outside but decided to pop along and check out seats inside, as the menu looked oh so good. So pleased we did. All the staff wore masks as they approached your table. Very professional and tables well spaced out inside. Sat in a dining area behind the bar with no one else in sight, so felt very comfortable. Had a bottle of Pinot Grigio, 2 x slow roasted pork belly, 1 x sticky toffee pudding and 1 x chocolate volcano. I can’t say anything more than the food was out of this world. Pork beautifully cooked, cracking to die for and served with red cabbage, long stemmed broccoli and croquette potatoe in the shape of a pear! Stunning presentation on the plate. Portions good and all for £14.00 Both desserts were wonderful - only negative I’d say is the time to wait for them. A tad long but we weren’t in a rush at all. £5.95 each and well worth it. Total bill with wine £55 If you haven’t been yet then do visit. Wonderful transformation but the food will bring people back again and again. I hope Rachel won’t put the prices up though as we’d like to be regulars! Thank you to all the back and front of house team today. A simply wonderful lunch out.

As a frequent visitor to Rosie Lea’s when they were at Setley Ridge farm shop decided to book for Sunday lunch for husbands birthday. Arrived 5 minutes before time of booking and although had asked for inside table was offered outside. Upon being seated we were advised that they had run out of roast dinners although when I booked the chap was promoting the roast extensively! We were told to order at the hatch so perused menu only to be told at said hatch that they could not take our order for food for some 30 minutes because they were busy so I ordered two drinks and enquired how long after ordering we could expect to eat. Was told a 30 minute wait ... one hour in total. Returned to husband to consider what to do. My drink arrived but not his. Problem solved. We left and will probably not return. A simple solution would be to warn folk who book for 2pm the roast may be finished or order in more food. Hubby and I laughed at the Fawlty Towers episode we had just appeared in 😂👎🏻

Absolutely terrible experience, first ever vist celebrating my partners birthday, the girls serving were excellent, the house Ales excellent but an hour and 10 minutes for Scallops and a single breast of chicken very poor. I ordered the scallops as my main meal when they finally turned up it was 6 scallops with a hint of sauce and nothing else on a big plate, I checked with the waitress is the rest to follow she said this is the dish so I ordered serveral other side dishes, my girlfriends dish 'chicken supreme' was a single chicken breast with a few bits of salad, this wasn't clearly an evening meal more of a light lunch or starter but the dishes were not cheap. Puddinings took nearly 40 minutes afterwards to arrive and quite clearly microwaved to boiling point. We heard four other people complaning for the wait and meal portions and discounts were given, the guy behind the bar said to one of the complainers they were a chef down but the placed was virtually empty. At no point were we asked if everything was ok but general cenus from the customers was a very poor situation indeed. I've honestly spent £4.75 with a free pint in Wetherspoons for more food and a quicker service. Maybe this was a one off on the evening but probably the worst experience I've had eating out in nearly 50 years. I won't be going back and would advise to avoid.

On a sunny morning, we thought what could be better than to try the new Rosie Lea House and sit in their “Beautiful gardens” to enjoy coffee and cakes. Having checked on their website that there were no restrictions, or booking required, we set off and arrived there at around 10:30. We went to the outside reception area and were asked if we had booked. We said there was no mention of booking on their website. The gentleman said “Well you have to phone or call in to book a table.” (We have since learned that others have turned up without booking without any trouble.) We asked if we could sit at one of the vacant tables in the sun. “No, they are all reserved, but you can sit at one which is in the shade.” (A large proportion of the garden is shaded by trees in the morning.) As there was a cool breeze, we had to take the other option and sit inside. This was also very cool and we had to get our jumpers from the car. Our waitress was very friendly and efficient and quickly brought the coffee and cakes we had ordered. The cakes were OK, but the Americano coffee was very weak and tasteless. Perhaps we should have ordered tea? Covid-19. We were surprised they did not follow the government’s requirement to take our contact details, should someone visit and later develop the virus. We were also surprised they did not provide one time use menus, or plastic wipe clean ones. (As someone else described the menus, “very old, tatty and unhygienic”) Although they had signs to keep customers 2m apart, they are clearly not taking all the necessary precautions to prevent the potential spread of the virus. On leaving, we noted the same outside tables in the sun were still vacant! All in all, this visit was very disappointing, not least because we thought this would be another attractive venue for our outings for coffee and cakes 2-3 times a week.

We are so sorry to read this review. We have a change of Management happening tomorrow which should improve the situation. All our staff are trained in track and trace and contact details are taken, again we do not understand why this didn’t happened today and we are investigating. However we can assure you that this will not happen again. Booking isn’t require but is advised. We have been extremely busy since opening and tables are booked quite a way in advance. We will always try and find a table for walk ins where possible and I’m sorry that this wasn’t made smoother for you today, We hope you may try us again in the future.

I have visited Rosie leas before when it use to be based at the winery, so I know the food to be wonderful. A friend and I choose this venue as it's beautifully kitch and really good food, and it didn't disappoint in those departments at all. The decor is gorgeous, we sat inside and loved all the fireplaces with all the autumnal decorations as it looked all cozy. Myself and a friend were running 10 minutes late, my friends who arrived before me all were seated with drinks by the time I got there, 25 mins went by after my arrival and no one had come to take a drinks order. We were confused as to whether it was table service or not. We eventually ask behind the bar and the waitress finally came over to take our order, We order our food at the same time which was the royal high tea. Our soft/gins drinks and 1st round of sandwiches came out quite promptly which were all delicious but again we were confused as we thought cakes and tea/coffee were included, after finishing that round we sat and wait for a while whilst we played a game and I opened presents. 30 minutes later we went back up to the bar to check what came with the afternoon tea as at that point we had only had sandwiches and scones, the girl apologised and said the cake boxes will be out shortly, which they were but still no hot drinks. We waited about 20 minutes then we had to prompt behind the bar again for beverages. They also came promptly after giving them a nudge. I really hate giving negative feedback but I found the service less than average and we just felt we were forgotten about, I know you have just recently opened, so i'm hoping it's just teething problems.

First visit to the new Rosie Lea House in what used to be the Hobler Pub. What a delightful transformation. We had a lovely summer lunch of scallops, asparagus and curried Rosti all of which were excellent quality and value. Service was a little bit slow but that can be expected of a brand new startup. Nevertheless the staff were all lovely and accommodating. Well organised for social distancing and a beautiful garden. Will definitely return soon. Well done and thank you Rosie Lea House.

Having seen various reviews, I decided to try this place for my Mum's birthday lunch. Originally, we were going to sit outside, however given the sunshine / heat on the day, I rang to ask if we could eat inside, which was fine. We were shown to our table and there was a brief mention of which menu was which, however we were a little unsure what we could have....although I had mentioned the Sunday roast platter to my Mum and step-Dad. The service was very slow and it took quite a while for anyone to come over to take our drinks order, so we did both our drinks and food order together. To be fair, they were busy and with restrictions, everyone has to be served at their table (even the Chef / kitchen were dinging their bell quite a bit!). It took nearly an hour for the main course to come out, however it was very good - only negatives were that it could have been a little hotter, we had to ask for the Yorkshire puddings as they were not on the platter and then when they came, we had to ask for another as there were 3 of us. Trying to get the sauces we wanted was more of a challenge.....we asked for apple sauce, horseradish sauce, mint sauce and mustard and only a bowl of sachets (COVID!) arrived, which only had horseradish sauce. Asked again for apple sauce and mint sauce and eventually, towards the end of the meal, mint sauce arrived and we were told they didn't have any apple sauce. The staff were very friendly, however fairly young and I'm guessing a little inexperienced with the reopening and all the restrictions, so with a bit more "coaching" and experience under their belt, I'm sure that asking about sauces and getting them out quickly will soon come and the speed of service will improve. Both Mum and I have been in the catering and pub trade, so we are probably more critical, however that is our honest review and the food was very good.

Thank you for your honest feedback. We have taken all the points you raised back to our management meeting for this week and hope to iron out some of the issues you raised for the future. We are glad you found the food good however we are looking at ways to improve the speed of the service. Covid rules re sauces is one that we have to follow and not something we particularly like as would much prefer to give you raminkns of sauces. We will ensure that all sauces are available next time. Really sorry they weren’t all there for the start of your meal. We hope to see you again soon.

This is a great little eatery very convenient if statying in the Lymington area. We are dinner one evening here and breakfast one morning. Dinner menu is quite cool, a little bit out of the ordinary. For starters I had the "Seared Tuna Steak". Personally I expect a seared steak to be nice a rare in the middle, but the tuna was cooked through, so have to take a point off for that. My wife's scallops were cooked perfectly, but beware the spiced avocado that comes with them really is spicy. We then had the Cote de Boeuf between the two of us, and have to say it was a pretty generous slab of beef that we were not able to finish. It was very well presented and garnished, and was cooked perfectly medium rare so very enjoyable indeed. The breakfast we had poached eggs: one with avocado (which could have done with some bacon on it too) and the other with salmon, both were absolutely excellent. I thought the breakfast/brunch menu was really excellent. The waiter was very pleasant and polite, however service (particularly for drinks) could have a been a bit sharper, but no big deal. It's a very cosy and warm atmosphere, with very on-trend decor and ambience, with a number of small rooms containing 2 or 3 tables spaced apart, and some large tables for families/groups. Would recommend thoroughly for an evening meal or breakfast/brunch.

Based on some of the reviews, we were really looking forward to having lunch there. Sadly we were disappointed. We waited nearly 45 minutes from the time we ordered our food to actually appearing on our table - far too long and spoilt your enjoyment. Food was good. My wife thoroughly enjoyed her charred chicken stew and my fish and chips were good. We would have liked a sweet and coffee but given the delay we decided against it. Staff were friendly and smiled with their eyes but appeared disorganised. Management would do well to address these service issues. If nothing else tell your customers that there’s a delay then you’re managing expectations.

As long time fans of the tea rooms in Brockenhurst we were keen to try out the new Rosie Lea House. We booked for 3.30 and on arrival were told that they had run out of scones. We were then seated and given a menu; after 25 minutes we enquired about giving an order and were told that we needed to go to the counter to order; it would have been helpful to have been told this...... Having ordered, our teacakes arrived quite quickly and we were told our drinks would be coming. When they had not arrived 15 minutes later and we had finished the food we asked and were told 'there was a queue in the bar'. 5 minutes later we asked again and were then brought tea, not in a pot but, with a tea bag in a mug and no sugar. I'm not sure if there was some kind of crisis behind the scenes but this was not an acceptable level of service and needs urgent attention.

We are sorry to hear your experience was not what we would want it to be, as you know from visits to our other establishments. We pride ourselves on custom service. As a new business opening at a very busy and difficult time after lockdown we have found small teething issues whilst trying to deal with the influx of customers. Rest assured these are being ironed out as we speak. We would very much like the opportunity to talk through your visit so we can learn from it and wonder if you light call and ask for Rachel or Katie on 01590622908

Lovely decoration and enjoyed the table we were on, done a great job with the place visually. Unfortunately felt as if staff needed more direction on what to do as a bit too casual and chatty behind bar area. Felt the place lacked quality of service and attention to detail. We ordered drinks and then after 10mins had to ask again for them, food was almost 50mins which when I came was lively but other tables who had come in after had been served first, plates weren’t cleared straight away and then ordered cakes to takeaway which they were very quick on, but also ordered a dessert and hot choc which they forgot to do the hot chocolate so again had to ask. Lots of training on attentiveness would be great. Overall might go back once they’ve got on top of everything

I have been to Rosie Lea House now for morning coffee, lunch and afternoon tea. I wouldn't have afternoon tea again. We arrived at 3pm when our table was booked. The hand sanitizer bottle at the entrance before we gave our details was empty and at the desk the sanitizer wasn't working, so we used our own. We were shown to our table and looked at the menu. The men went up to the order desk. The tea came promptly in a pretty teapot and cups. Our scones came 45 minutes later, by which time our tea had been drunk and what was left, was cold. The service is better at other times of the day. It was all the more surprising because the garden wasn't very busy. We had to order another pot of tea which of course added to the bill. The restaurant has had teething problems which we all understood and they have done very well in these challenging times, but they need to get the service quicker. I am going back for lunch later in the week, so hope the service is better!

Thank you for your feedback. We apologise for the hand sanitiser not working. We have a Covid monitor who checks this every hour so it must have run out between checks. We have now increased this check to half hourly to prevent this happening again. We are working on improvements to the speed of service and hope that if you come back soon you will see a marked improvement. Ps when you do please make yourselves known and we will ensure you receive a free pot of tea. We are sorry you were charged for this previously.

A short break to the New Forest, we decided to book our evening meals out in advance, so, Thursday last week, we booked the Rosie Lea. On arriving, a staff member takes your temperature before seating you, which we thought was a good idea. We had a lovely meal, both my partner and I had the homemade pate to start, a very generous portion served with chunky toast and I had the duck for the main course which was cooked to perfection. The waiting staff were friendly and attentive, especially the young waitress who was really lovely. We will definitely be dining here again in the future on our next break to the New Forest. Highly recommend this little gem of a place!
