Not somewhere we would usually choose to visit but thought we would try something new and it didn’t disappoint, the food was very good.

Very disappointed with our experience as a pescatarian/vegetarian the options were thoughtless and tasteless. Instead of lamb there was breaded aubergine no flavour what so ever. Instead of chicken was chargrilled courgette. For £85 was really underwhelmed. Don't bother if you don't eat meat chef...obviously can't be bothered! Service was lacking for the price you pay had to top up own water and wine.More

This husband and wife team have made a bold move over the river to a larger venue. The new spot is chic and modern and the tables generously spaced. The two of them run everything seamlessly and produce top quality food seemingly effortlessly. We had...the wine flight which was both well matched and generously poured. My only criticism was that service was a bit brisk & we had to ask for a break before the brisket dish which was accommodated with no fuss whatsoever. An extra pair of hands front of house to serve arrival drinks and seat guests, clear plates could possibly help but I see these two enjoy what they do and they do it incredibly well. Wow, what a great restaurant. My wife and I have been privileged to have eaten in some of the best restaurants in London, and indeed, around the world. We had a first class experience at this restaurant, a couple run establishment with a strong history....Chloe, front of house, and Josh, her husband chef made our visit to north Devon most memorable. The six course tasting menu could have easily stood alongside any Michelin starred restaurant, the wine pairing supported the food with ease and Chloe’s service skills made us so comfortable as if we had known her for years. Lovely welcome from Chloe for the fabulous tasting menu. Conversations when booking meant allergies and preferences well catered for, with every dish a taste delight. I discovered the best dessert I ever tasted, which as a chocoholic even more suprising not a hint of choc...involved, utterly sublime. Great temperature of food, pace of service, variety of flavours and presentation, and very generous portions for a tasting menu. Despite a healthy appetite I struggled just slightly at the end.
