We had our Cornwall relatives visiting so we planned a special dinner, and special it was.. we had seen the Cote de Boeuf advertised on Facebook and that was a must!! We also had the spiced lamb and goats cheese salad as mains and just...tucked in. Starters were the prawns and Chilli Cornishons. Desserts were Affrigatos all round . Lydia and Florian were perfect hosts. Need to go back to try the seafood as this was a tremendous meat fest...More

A amazing restaurant, Lydia and Florian made us feel very welcome. Food was excellent, we really enjoyed our meals, scallop carpaccio a must try and rib-eye steak cooked to perfection. Would highly recommend this superb restaurant in Bideford.

This small French restaurant in Bideford is a delight. It’s run by Lydia and Florian. Lydia looks after the front of house and Florian does the excellent food. It’s delightfully small and intimate and the six of us had a superb evening. Lydia is a...wonderful host.. nothing too much trouble. The food was simply excellent. Heavy emphasis on seafood with a truly fantastic dover sole as centrepiece. Vegetarians are catered for by an option on each course but the team will happily adapt a meal for you. Really recommend a visit.More

We went along on a cold, wet November Thursday evening, and had dinner there. There were a lot of people eating in the restaurant, which is a good sign. Service was very good, and we had a double-order of oysters which were delicious, and the...sardines, and the moules. A couple of creme brûlées finished it off - all all under £100, including wine. Highly recommended and we will be back.More

Loved it! C'est magnifique! Pre-orderd the lobster and so pleasently surprised to get the full lobster each, no stealing away the claws (which were shelled for you so no mess!). Very interesting menu as well, definitely not your avergae eatery for sure. For any pudding...eaters you MUST order the creme brulee which was out of this world. I had the chocolate mousse which whilst delicious left me with some food envy! If you like good food cooked perfectly this is for you. If you just wants steak and chips then it's probably not for you. Perfect for fish/shellfish lovers.More

Fantastic meal. Booking required for a Saturday night. Lydia the perfect front of house host from the moment we walked through the door. Food excellent - probably one of the best steaks I have ever had. Despite the restaurant being full, Lydia made time to...chat with us and recommended a superb wine to go with our meal. Would highly recommend to anyone visiting Bideford.More

Glorious small French restaurant in Bideford. Proved to be an inspitred choice. The food was excellent and the service was truly great. I hope that they go from strength to strength. We only saw very happy diners and the couple who run the restaurant are...charming. Don't know why, but we had expected much more of a seafood offering - possibly because of Bidefords's maritime history. As it was, the menu was more balanced, and every item chosen was exquisite. Thanks so much.More

We were delighted we tried this lovely French restaurant. Friendly, welcoming and unhurried. We thoroughly enjoyed our evening - food and atmosphere was exceptional. The oysters I ordered for starters were incredibly fresh and followed by one of the best, wonderfully cooked Dover Soles I...have ever eaten. My wife thoroughly enjoyed her sirloin steak with frites, followed by a very authentic creme brulee. We have already reserved a table for another evening!More

Really enjoyed our evening at Le Petit Monde. On arrival we were welcomed in to an intimate and cosy restaurant and made to feel so comfortable immediately. We had mussels and beef to start which were both excellent, and then the Fruit de Mer and...Salade Chèvre Chaud. Again both of which were superb! Everything about the whole evening at Le Petit Monde was perfect. Service, food and atmosphere. We will definitely be returning and bringing family with us next time.More

What a gem of a restaurant! Warm welcome and attentive service. Buzzy atmosphere and relaxed vibe. Delicious fish and seafood, immaculately cooked, as was my wife’s ribeye steak - beautifully marbled meat - very succulent.

Le Petit Monde is a gem. Genuine french cooking by Chef Florian and wonderful service from Lydia in a very nice setting (with a few references to the Antipodes!). We had a delicious meal and very much enjoyed chatting with Lydia about her and Florian's...experiences in Australia and Lydia's feline family. We can thoroughly recommend La Petit Monde. I had such high hopes for our night out in La Petite Monde having seen the impressive reviews. Firstly the positives, Lydia was lovely and made us feel very welcome. I had the Gambas for starters which were very nice and good value as they...were big, my partner had the frogs legs, he said they were ok. The mussels were good that he had for a main. My steak is where it went a bit wrong, I understand that a rib cut can be fatty but I wouldn’t expect to have to leave half of it when it cost £29! I thought it was very expensive for a steak, chips and salad leaves but had the steak been the star of the show I would have been more than happy to pay this amount but sadly it was not. We were hoping this might be our new favourite restaurant but it’s unlikely we will return.More
