Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Took Mum for an early Birthday Tea and will definitely return for sure!
The Specials of Pork Chops were cooked to perfection which matched the lovely soft mash and veg.
Sis had the Gammon with Pineapple and Egg whilst Mum went for the Fish with shared Chips with Sis.
Portion sizes where, for me, on the large size, which is why I felt guilty leaving some when it was so nice!
Pudding time - Waitress came over and asked if we had room for a pudding. When I replied with "not unless I can take mine home" and she said "Of course you can!" well, Lemon Pavlova was ordered before she could change her mind 🤣🤣
A take out Red Berry Cheesecake for Mum whilst Sis had her Hot Chocolate Fudfe Cake there and then.
Lovely staff, lovely welcome on entering, fantastic food, not rushed, lovely conversation on leaving all made our 40mile round trip worth it.
Thanks all at Robin Hood!

Staying in the village for a few days over Christmas, just the 2 of us and a well behaved Labrador. Always love a pub that welcomes the pooch. This is probably some of the most fantastic pub food we have had, so much so that our plans to cook in our rented cottage have gone out of the window. Their selection of food was great - something to sort all tastes. Delivered hot and freshly cooked and tasting great. Can particularly recommend the battered mushroom starter - batter to die for. Prawn cocktail which puts every other prawn cocktail I have ever had to shame - absolutely loaded with prawns. Burgers fantastic and a homemade steak pie that has to be on your "must have list". The best chips too. Nice atmosphere, friendly and welcoming customers, unlike some village pubs where you are made to feel like an alien the minute you walk through the door! Great team and nothing too much trouble. Highly recommended and a definite return for us. Thank you Robin Hood.

We came here with friends for a catch up over food. The pies here are fabulous and we tucked in with great gusto. Pie with chips or mash, with seasonal vegetables. We even managed to sneak in a home-made dessert (sponge and custard and lemon meringue). Lovely village pub, with friendly staff and a good selection of drinks too.! And if you are lucky, live music occasionally.

We were staying in another pub about 4 miles away, the food was not brilliant, and read on trip advisor about the Robin Hood. It said it was an excellent pub, great staff, great food ,good beer , thought ice would give it a go. How pleased we were that we did, the Robin Hood, met every expectation, can’t fault the food, staff, landlord and beer . Thank you Robin Hood

A traditional landlord who moves amongst his customers to ask about them and to check all is well. Service was excellent. Small detail but noticeable was that the cutlery was clean and polished. Live band on this Friday. Motorhomers are welcomed to stay over if customers. The large car park that had a small climbing frame and beer garden. Food was a good price, plentiful and hot. The menu was extensive, with Vege, vegan and gluten free options, impressive for such a modest sized pub. Beer was well kept. I can see why it is popular.

We dine here frequently but never thought to leave a review until now, but if we had, there’d be dozens of 5* reviews all saying the same thing … fabulous homemade meals, enough choice so that there’s always a bit of a dilemma what to pick! So tasty … best home made chips for miles!! Very generous portions … more often than not we’re apologising for not clearing our plates, only because we couldn’t eat it all, no other reason!
An excellent chef, lovely attentive waiting and bar staff, always cosy, big carpark, what else can I say?!?
Highly highly recommended !

We stopped here on the way home from a holiday in Whitby. Really pleased we did as the service was fantastic. The food was delicious. My husband and I had the meat pie and there was so much meat in it I struggled to finish. The chips were homemade and really tasty. Wish we had a pub like this near us!

Visited the Robin Hood Inn three times in one week whilst staying in a cottage nearby for a week.
The food is excellent. We had a Sunday lunch which was lovely and later in the week had steak pie and chicken and mushroom pie which were delicious. We also had the cheesecake and treacle sponge which were yummy. Portions are huge and the food comes piping hot.
Staff are so friendly and helpful and nothing is too much trouble for them. A couple of nights we just went in for a drink and as it was mid week it was a little quieter, however the landlord sat and chatted with us (socially distanced of course) and made us feel like we were his regulars --he even brought us a bowl of potato wedges to nibble on with our beers which was a nice touch. I would highly recommend the Robin Hood and we will definitely visit again when we are in the area. Thank you for making us feel so welcome.

On our way to Bridlington we stopped here for lunch, an inspired choice! Excellent meal and service in a lovely warm friendly environment. The staff were great, very welcoming and we really enjoyed our meal. A great bonus was the most comprehensive gluten free menu we have come across. Thank you so much for a great time, we certainly left smiling.

We were here to see a friend play in his band, and thought why not have a meal beforehand. And it was certainly worth it! I opted for the meat pie with chips and peas, while husband had the fish and chips with mushy peas. Portions were large, and we couldn't even squeeze in a dessert (and they are lovely from here too!). Friendly staff, good priced pub grub, not expecting anything less from Mike and the team, especially as it is a Marston's pub.

The service was very good, and nothing was to much trouble.
We all had mains and desserts.
All our food was freshly prepared so was lovely and hot.
All our meals were cooked to perfection, and the vegetables perfectly cooked.
Some had vegetarian option, Sunday lunches, Scampi, meat pie.
All was very good.
Great choice of desserts too.
We have never had a bad meal here. We had had larger parties here too.
Always well looked after.

Stopped overnight with our camper randomly on a Friday . Great pub doing what pubs should do. The landlord was a really nice guy and we felt welcome by all the locals. The food was good and beer too. We had our old dog with us and he got spoilt. Later there was a live band on and the pub was buzzing. That’s all I need say really and hope to make another stop over again sometime.

We just had a .lovely meal in the Robin Hood Inn last night. Calamari starter shared followed by Chicken Pie and Lasagne. Food was excellent. Fresh and piping hot and good portions. Very friendly staff. The pub looks inviting from the outside but even then its a pleasant surprise when you step inside. Social distancing and precautions were being taken very seriously.
We rang ahead to make sure that we could park our motorhome in the car part overnight. This was fine. Access is ok and the car park is flat. There's a wonderful beer garden which would make this pub even more attractive during the summer months. Ideal play area for youngsters adjacent.
We'd recommend this pub for all of the above. A gem close to home that we look forward to visiting again very soon. Thanks to all of the staff at the Robin Hood for a great night.

We chose to come here based on a family recommendation and because they are dog friendly. We were made to feel very welcome (as was our dog!) and the food was excellent. Vey generous portions of everything and the homemade steak pie and chips was amazing (proper chips!). We would certainly return here when we are next in the area.
