I had the pleasure of going to Crab House Cafe on a Thursday evening and I can’t rave on enough about how excellent it was! We had five star service that was very attentive and knowledgeable from the friendly waiting staff, particularly Owen, Darren and...Dan. They were kind enough to give me a sample of some wine I wasn’t sure about and had lots of say about everything I asked about on the menu. You can taste the love and care that’s gone into all their food, with presentation that makes it feel very fancy and high end. The drinks menu is long and exhaustive. The starters were pretty memorable, in particular the lobster and crab bisque and mackerel mousse which I’m pretty sure I will continue dreaming about for months. We also got a complimentary basket of lovely fresh bread. The oysters were also very fresh and I noticed that the Crab House Cafe has its own oyster farm! I didn’t get a chance to try it, but the menu also had fresh whole crab, cooked in different ways, which makes it pretty special. The only con was it’s a bit more expensive than your normal night eating out in Weymouth, but the premium prices are matched with the premium quality, and every penny was worth it. I would also say that if you don’t eat fish or want veggie food, it’s probably not the place for you. All in all, 11/10 - would go again.More

Went for Sunday lunch. The place was nearly full, staff were extremely friendly and enthusiastic about the menu. The choice on the menu was excellent - some daily specials and others on the main menu. All of the things we had were delicious and beautifully...presented. We couldn't fault it and would love to visit again. My husband had oysters and said they were the best he had ever had. The location is excellent - very near Chesil Beach.More

12 of us were staying at Portland House in Weymouth for a long weekend in mid November and we booked the Crab House Cafe for lunch on Friday. Took a leisurely walk to the Cafe to work up an appetite which was a smart move....We were sat outside across two tables and had a great long lunch - tucking into a variety of starters, from the oysters, cockles, smoked eel and mixed fish bhaji's. Main course was a similar feast, including - 4 whole crabs, sea bass, john dory, mackerel and hake. All washed down with deliciously chilled rose! Food was delicious, service was excellent and at a reasonable price too. If you like your fish and crab, and don't mind getting stuck in cracking your crab and getting every last morsel out - then give this place a go - you won't be disappointed.More

We walked from Castle Cove along the old railway track on a blustery day. Sat in the heated marque with our (very well) behaved) dog. Service and food excellent. Oysters and a ‘brace’ of mackerel for me. Fresh crab and a ‘brace’ of sea bass...for the wife. The veg was equally good. The Crab House Cafe well deserves its reputation.More

This place is a hidden gem. The food is out of this world. The service is fantastic. Unfortunately we have never visited during the day, so have yet to see the stunning views. Can’t wait to go back. Oh and the Baked Alaska was AMAZING

Another visit to this amazing little gem of a restaurant. We sat outside but were warm with the patio heater. Oysters to start and Spicy Chinese Crab for main. Absolutely fabulous!

We were pleased to be able to book a table knowing how popular this restaurant is. Our meal was the best we have experienced in a long time. Starters of Cornish Sardines, Thai Fishcakes and Hummous, followed by John Dory and Dover Linguine. These dishes...were excellent, with generous portions and beautifully presented. Would recommend strongly!More

This is such a real, local restaurant. Like everything they are doing. It’s a bit difficult to find but well worth it. We were greeted by a friendly guy and it was all explained. I ordered crab and my other half had mussels, both were...delicious, fresh salad and cold beers. So nice to find people doing things they love, it just works. Do make the effort if you’re here for a few days.More
