About 1 mile off the Weymouth to Bridport Coast Rd., it is worth popping in for a meal if you are passing. We went in for dinner (website says closed 11-14.30). Quiet but a very friendly welcome, and a menu displayed on boards. I could have done without the local book club sitting on a table right next to us... More

Went with my family for dinner on Sunday. No atmosphere at all woman serving seemed stressed but we decided to stay as we'd travelled for 10 miles to come here on a recommendation. We ordered our starters and mains and starters were absolutely adequate. 2 of us ordered the roast which was clearly left over from lunch but again was... More

Wonderful, really, really good food and a great pub in lovely village. The landlady was very helpful as were the other staff. Great beer apparently (so the men said). Would definitely recommend. Only thing to watch out for are the opening hours which we never quite worked out. Suggest you book first to confirm. Also watch out if sitting by... More

Found this pub in a circular walk book. It is a little gem. The food was delicious and the staff friendly. Also the circular walk from pub car park was stunning! What a great place and dog friendly.

This is a lovely little gastropub in Langton Herring and serves great real ale straight from the barrel as well as superb food. It is located close to the south coast path and, with the landlord's OK you can leave your car in the car park an go for a bracing walk to build up an appetite for lunch (or... More

If you are looking for a traditional English boozer then this is for you. We were on holiday in the area and really fancied a Sunday roast. Friendly service and the food was pretty good. Venue could do with a bit of sprucing up, especially toilets, but all in all it was enjoyable and worth the money.

I have passed the sign for this pub many times and only recently finally got there. I was not disappointed. The food was delicious and they even made the smoked mackerel pate fresh as they had used up the last portion. My only comment was that the service was slow but definitely worth the wait.

This is by far the best restaurant carvery I've ever had in UK. Not only is this a very cosy and welcoming pub, but the food and service is out of this world. Please make sure you book as it is extremely popular.

Called in for lunch after getting a recommendation from someone who had stayed in the village. Good beer - Bramscombe Bitter straight from the barrel, no top pressure! Chose the Scallops and the lasagne. Both were well presented and reasonable portions. Yes, the toilets are tired, but they are clean, so we don't know why others have been so scathing... More
