Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Excellent food, friendly and helpful staff and dog friendly too. Had an amazing lunch with my wife and two children. Large portions of delicious food, with very nice and helpful staff. Dog biscuits at the bar for our two four legged friends as well. The...halloumi starters were excellent, and the smothered chicken was delicious too.More

Lovely experience. Tasty fresh food, clean, pleasant atmosphere, fairly priced AND child & dog friendly too! We had two of the mains off the specials board. £22 for two meals and two drinks, good portion sizes. What more could you want!

Absolutely hopeless, I live round the corner and go in frequently during the week but evenings and weekends the so called 'local' fraternity take over. They are rowdy, no manners or respect and the latest (!) management treat them like gold dust. The real ales...can occasionally be ok though . Lost a good customer, shameMore

We are visiting the area and popped in with our two dogs for a drink. We ended up eating too and it was lovely. Very tasty food, friendly staff and a very nice atmosphere. We will go again during this visit.

Nice pub especially after revamp. Shame about the food, not the best. Husbands macaroni cheese was dry. My curry had no flavour. Hopefully it's a one off.

Couldn't wait to see the refurbished Smugglers. Wyke really needs its local pub! Pre-booked for a roast and MY GOSH... it was amazing!!! The old pub has got her sparkle back! The staff were warm, welcoming and so friendly, a great selection of beers, ales...and spirits on offer and the roast ..... Well, the chef is a genius!! It was melt in the mouth delicious! Good luck to the new proprietors, I really hope they stay on and keep The Smugglers' doors open.More

The new refurb to the pubs looks great. Kept the local pub feel inside while adding on a really nice seating area outside. The seating area is under cover too so ideal for the great British weather. Friendly and welcoming staff. The new menu is...good. A little something for everyone and really good quality. Went in for the Sunday roasts and it was delicious. Presentation was fantastic and great value really for the quality. Upon speaking to the waitress she confirmed our suspicions that everything was made in house. Will be returning!!!More

Went in Saturday early evening. We were disappointed to see they weren't doing food. Sadly also most draught beers were off/run out. Went in again Sunday pm and even more drinks were out ( guiness) . Very depressing place empty and quiet. Ladies loos also...stank of weed. So sad. This used to be a great place.More

For my friends 60th birthday celebration, we organised a skittles night at the Wyke Smuggles. Absolutely fantastic night. Harriet and Mike, landlords, made sure everything went well. The buffet, prepared by Harriet was faultless- compliments from everyone who attended. Thank you both so much for...making Lorraine’s night special. I highly recommend the Wyke Smugglers as a pub, venue for a party and skittles too. Thank you Harriet and Mike 😊More

The pub was shut Easter Sunday and Bank Holiday Monday and more staff have left. The landlord is not helping himself by posting on his Facebook page the amount of people he has barred. This has got around Weymouth and the gossip has started and...he is finding it very hard to get staff. Lots of locals have taken their custom elsewhere. If you are thinking of going to the pub phone to confirm they are open to save any disappointment. If you look on the pubs Facebook page you will see pictures of food these are all old postings from the previous landlord and to date, they are not doing food.More

The pub changed hands seven months ago, I have been using the pub for fifteen odd years and seen landlords & landlady’s come and go. The bar area is clean and well stocked with a good range of beers and real ales. No food is...being served this use to attract people in and a lot of the locals have gone elsewhere to drink and eat. There is a high turn over of staff at all levels some being sacked or just leaving after only being there for days or weeks. The outside of the pub is shabby and the garden is shut and with summer coming needs to be sorted out. The pub is the last one standing in the area and I believe in use it or lose it, I would hate to see it go under.More
