Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Over cooked, poor quality food. Drinks good but very little else good to say. Staff tried to rectify problems with pathetic 10% then upped to 20% when we spoke to the manager. Would definitely avoid when there are so many other lovely places to eat.More

I have just eaten a mushroom linguine that was one of the best I’ve eaten. Fresh pasta, packed with texture, flavour and finesse. Totally caught me by surprise but what a find. 😋

I've reviewed the magic roundabout previously, about 7 years ago and it was pretty poor for breakfast then but always willing to give a second chance and good reviews seemed to show it had turned around........it really hasn't. We had booked a table, and we...arrived slightly early and seated straight away. The cocktail and in particular gin menu is spot on. The dinner menu had changed since we made the booking and hadn't been changed online, but that wasn't an issue. Our order was promptly taken, we were surprised when our starters arrived before our drinks, then we realised why, the chicken skewers my partner ordered we raw in the middle. Those were promptly sent back, when a replacement arrived the waiter said "I hope they're cooked this time", that didn't instil confidence. They were cooked, alas, massively over cooked. The other starter of bao Buns were pretty poor, overcooked duck, and flavourless. Onto mains, duo of chicken burgers, it was described as having chicken thigh in each bun, it absolutely did not. At a push and a big push, half a thigh a burger, the sauce was tastless, and the fries were unseasoned. My partners had teriyaki salmon which was overcooked, sticky rice which was just overcooked mush and some avocado (very unsure how that works with teriyaki salmon) and some sauce which was poor at best. The manager asked us what we thought as we left alot and I said it was bland and pretty poor. He thanked us for the feedback and blamed it on a new menu. In reality a new menu does not mean a chef can't cook chicken properly and doesn't know what works together. There was no apology and it is a far from cheap menu, luckily there is a tesco next door. It seems this place will keep going because of where it is, it will get enough passing trade and still pushing out garbage food with no ambition to get things betterMore

Great full English breafast…sausages could be better a little bland…my wife got eggs Benedict with bacon… but honestly the presentation and overall quality was right up there… reasonable prices worth a visit

Wondering if the menus on TA might be outdated? Evening kicked off on a difficult note when the glasses in which our drinks were supposed to be served (G&T and a beer) arrived straight out of the dishwasher, piping hot, dripping wet and not even...dried off. Waiter then insisted on serving all orders at once, even though the menu provides separately for “small plates”and mains. Eventually, the food arrived cold or tepid, and was generally tasteless, especially the boa buns. Portions were tiny and vastly overpriced for what you get (£17 for only 5 anemic mushroom raviolis: £11 for 2 small chicken skewers, £1.50 for a lick of hot sauce, etc….). Only 1 vegetarian mains option on dinner menu, and the answer to everything seemed to be more garlic. Pity that we were sat right at the bar area where two waiters were happily coughing away while prepping drinks and serving food. Would not recommend at all.More

Absolutely appalling attitude off the manager from the minute we walked in, stating we had not arrived on time for booking and when in fact he hadn’t made note of the time correctly. He then pushed us upstairs on to a table of 6 when we...were a party of 7 completely out the way with dirty left over food on the table/seats. The walk upstairs was slippery and full of trip hazards. When confronting him about it he couldn’t care less and stood there very arrogantly with cutlery in had hand coming over as rather aggressive. We decided not to eat there but not even an apology only sarcastic remarks as we left. Would never recommend this place in the slightest.More

We decided to try this place after seeing good reviews, but very disappointed with our experience. Nothing exciting on the menu, so I just had chips. My wife and daughter chose the hanging kebab. This was cold and pieces of it looked raw. We were...also seated at a table right next to a bin which was used to scrape off all waste food off customers plates, which I found unbelievable. Drinks were ok but food not, and won’t be going again.More

The gin menu is excellent. Service and decor was very good. To eat we had the pork loin and mustard mash which was very nice and plentiful. We also had the beef hanging kebab which was not so plentiful - more beef needed- and was...tough 😲.More

Utterly awful.. had reserved table a week previous… we arrived at our time of booking but table wasn’t ready, so was ushered outside (!) to the side of the restaurant to a seated area… it was 2 degrees, dark and drizzling with rain. Finally taken...back indoors to table 25 minutes after original booking. Food was below average… Mussels for the starter were shrivelled up,sauce was so dense and flavourless, sea bass in Thai green sauce ( fish was over cooked and the rice was just bits swimming in the stodgy sauce). Spoke to table next to us, they also weren’t impressed as their table which they booked prior to the night also wasn’t ready, and they were stuffed in the tiniest of rooms upstairs to wait beyond their booking time ( and they also weren’t impressed with the food!) Staff were trying, but we felt they knew what they were dealing in customer service and quality of food wasn’t good.More

Children are welcome. There will certainly be items for them on the menu. Not sure if there is an official children’s menu though.
