I love this place, the oldest pub in Bowness with low beams slate floors and a very warm and friendly welcome. The food is good and so is the range of beers on sale. I can't go the lakes without calling in its perfect.

Great pub with charm and character Very busy of an evening with many locals too so get in early if you want a seat. Food looked appetising but we didn't eat when visited. Great selection of cask ales Would return for a visit

Has a great olde pub thing going on but utter tourist trap - £3.95 for about 200ml of mulled cider is taking the p. A place we'll not be returning to.

We didn't dine here but we called in most days during our recent stay. Full of character and charm. Very interesting decor. ;) Open log fires warmed you on the rainy days we encountered. Large selection of local and international ales. A very friendly welcome....More

Came here with my boyfriend two days ago on our arrival to the lakes. Only came for drinks whilst waiting for our hotel room to be ready, Sitting by the fire was relaxing. No problems at the bar, good service. Would recommend a visit !
