Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Lovely clean and friendly. Was very busy but didn’t have to wait long for our food. The food was delicious and plenty of it. Dog friendly and the dog also got his own bowl of water. Would definitely be coming back.

Wow what an amazing roast. Lamb had to be had at Easter. Staff were all so lovely. They dont take bookings only walkins but we did get a table. Lots of dogs in restaurant/bar which I dont really like but most places seem to cater...for them 😔 . Well worth a visit.More

Delicious food. Had a plate with a chip on it,not very good as it's a hazard for bacteria to grow and didn't notice until I finished my meal. I formed one of the waiters and he apologised. Levi was a nice waiter. Very animated and...polite. Drinks are overpriced but I guess you are paying a premium.More

We stunbled apon this pub while sight seeing, it wasn’t much to look at from the outside really quaint and full of character inside, staff really friendly. Food was fantastic, apparently it was the chefs first day using a new menu can’t say enough good...things about it, all four of us had a different meal and all loved it. I had the salmon it was delicious.More

Such a shame but the barmaid was so rude tonight. Only our second drink and ended up cancelling the order and leaving. We were there last night and another couple left and were quite vocal about the other barmaid, but we thought it was a...one off until we received the same attitude tonight but off another barmaid. Won't pay for rude service.More

Visited on St Patrick’s day & the place was alive. Live music, everyone dressed up & an Irish themed menu. I always visit The Albert when in Bowness, this time, just for a drink. Food in this area isn’t cheap, never has been but I...think they all going over the top with pricing. I saw Sunday lunches coming out & they looked very good & good portions. Staff were friendly & I will visit next time I’m there.More

Called in for a sandwich with my wife after having drinks all week,I ordered a ham and cheese baguette and my wife had egg mayo, side of chips and two drinks £35. The food arrived within 5 minutes and I had melted cheese and thick fatty...ham with salad, the dressing was awful and we swapped sandwiches, the egg mayo was just a baguette with mayo on,not sure if it had egg on it,£35 for two frozen baguette’s and a bowl of frozen chips you’d expect more.More

We always visit The Albert when in Bowness and we went for drinks on Friday evening for my wife and daughters birthdays. I was served by the most ignorant and obnoxious barman I've ever come across and couldn't for the life of me understand his...attitude until another couple at the end of the bar said he'd spoken to them the same way and then my wife said he'd been like that with her earlier. The other barman was a joy to deal with so I guess some people just shouldn't be working in hospitality.More

Visited here a few times now. Each time food has been amazing. We love the cheese board and deliberately pay a visit just for that as often as we can. Highly recommended.

We always stop here for lunch when we stay in Windermere for the weekend. It was about 3pm on Saturday and as we expected, it was nice and busy with a warm feeling about it. We had a delicious meal, would definitely recommend the lasagne!...All the family (2 adults and 2 kids) enjoyed the food and as usual the service was very friendly and professional. We will be back, thank you!More
