Was looking for someone to have lunch while we were out, nice little cafe, great location, friendly staff and food that tastes home cooked beautiful and satisfying. Cafe feels welcoming and comfortable.

Does not look much from the outside ....and can get very busy ! though you can book a table .... very varied menu with a decent list of specials on the blackboard Not fancy dining , but good fresh food , large potions , good selection of modest priced deserts too :)

Lunch of pea and ham soup with warm fresh rolls....delicious. Very satisfying on a cold November day and price very reasonable. Will definitely eat there again next time we visit the Lake District.

Don't be put off by the appearance, we only planned to stop for a coffee and to use the loo! The food being served looked delicious, so we had a late lunch instead. The food was delicious, good portions and reasonably priced. The fish and chips was very tasty. Would highly recommend stopping off for the food, you won't be... More

Went for a bit of lunch with my mum, quite busy but got a sit, food very good and fresh and they did gluten free I was very happy about, it was a sunny day and you cold sit out side if you liked, and you can take your dog in.

Quite a large menu for such a little place. Had chicken and tarragon pie and lamb shank, both with mash, lovely, followed by chocolate pud and cream and date and pecan cake. Couldn't fault it. Service was excellent and very welcoming. Will definitely be returning.
