Another superb meal. We have dined with Justin and Julia many times since moving to North Devon 4 years ago. We have always been impressed by the quality and taste of the cuisine and the superb service. The menu is extensive and Julia often has...extra seasonal dishes which are a bonus. Yesterday we had a crab salad and some pasta accompanied by the usual delicious chips! There was also a new pud - cherry bakewell (home made like all the desserts) which was excellent. Can’t wait to go again!More

Like other reviewers, we booked a table based on previous reviews. It looks unimposing from the outside, but very cosy inside - not too many tables. We were not disappointed! We were staying at a caravan site a mile away and decided to walk, so...we could have a couple of drinks. We received a very warm welcome when we got there, followed by a description of the menu - which was all written on a blackboard ..... no printed menus here, it changes dependent on what is available on the day. I started with a delicious prawn and avocado gratin, hubby had some HUGE king prawns in a wonderful garlic sauce. We followed with a lovely 'deconstructed' home-made moussaka which came with a big bowl of chips and pork belly with big bowl of veg and potatoes. All washed down with a very reasonably priced bottle of merlot. Far too full for a pudding.....maybe next time!! Whilst we were there, the landlord was taking many phone calls for table bookings - which proves the well-earned popularity of the place.More

Wonderful food and wonderful service. Four of us had a marvellous evening and we shall now use this as our local eatery. We will be back.

Went a few days ago with friends and the 4 of us had a lovely 3 course meal. The Stilton sauce with the pork loin was exceptional. Lovely pint of beer too. 10/10 would recommend. Will be back soon!

We booked a table at the New Inn based on the reviews. We were staying at a local AirBNB in Goodleigh, and the New Inn was walkable, so thought we'd see what all the fuss was about. Firstly, the service from Justin was something we...hadn't experienced before. He explained the full menu for us, and had all of our mouths watering. The food came out in good time and was absolutely delicious. Couldn't fault a single part of the evening. Justin is clearly passionate about giving his customers the best experience possible. Just wow..........cannot wait to return.More

Justin and Julia hosted and served a wonderful evening for 28 hungry golfers. Presenting the menu at the bar, followed by slick service of an array of dishes - local crab, lamb chops, cod… Round of applause!

So happy to be back in our favourite place. Our annual visit did not disappoint. Starters we had the avocado and prawn gratin, camemberts x 2 and the Stilton mushroom topper. Mains two moussakas, two cod and prawn mornay. Pudding was the waffle but with...honeycomb icecream and two lemon possets. Just wow. Everything is cooked to perfection, the taste of all the dishes, the attention to detail, service and hospitality. You can’t beat this little gem xMore

We've just had a lovely weekend in Goodleigh and booked into The New Inn on the Friday. The food was so tasty we re-booked for the Sunday evening too. Food was amazing, I'd highly recommend the Woodland Cottage Pie, their Lamb Chops (which are huge)...we're delicious and their starters and puddings are also fab! Be aware, their portions are really generous, but it's all good. The Hosts are so lovely and really attentive. We had a really good laugh with them and they were do friendly and welcoming. I'd definitely return when I'm next down that way!More

Just moved into the area and decided to try this amazing little gem. Such a friendly atmosphere, outstanding/delicious food and doesn’t break the bank. Can’t wait to re-book and sample more of their culinary delights. Booking is essential as it’s small but that makes the...service and quality even better. Well done Justin and Julia - you are amazing 🤩More
