Visited on a Thursday evening having received a flier through our door offering 20% off food at the newly reopened Shadforth Plough. Nice choices on the menu and also a specials board. I love that children aren't limited to the usual nuggets or fish fingers, they can have a half portion of any adult meal which is what we chose... More

visiting my daughter and partner for a weekend, walked down to the shadforth Plough fro Sherburn. Expereinced a warm welcome from the landlord and his staff, we sat in the lounge bar with drinks while deciding what to choose from the menu, there was lots to choose from. The satrters were delicious, I chose Belly pork terine, my daughter chose... More

Came for the valentines night with the live music with my boyfriend. Was lovely how we were allowed to keep our table for the full night, there was a nice amount of time between the four courses to relax and have abit of quality time with my partner. Food was scrumptious! We both had the smoked salmon for starters then... More

Having re-opened recently I was looking forward to trying here again. However although the staff were love!y, warm and welcoming, the food let it down. My Cajun chicken was very bland and very very dry, did not really go with the soggy green peppers that it was served with (but the chips lovely!). My partner had belly pork which again... More

We were popping in for lunch so weren't expecting a lot, which is just as well! My "hot roast of the day baguette" was warm on the outside and cold in the middle. As it was chicken I was rathered unhappy and therefore left it.My husband was disappointed that his steak came with one tomato and no other garnish or... More

Now had several visits since reopened in January and all have been great experiences. Good food, (with veg served hot) with a nice touch of difference (e.g. roasted guinea fowl with separate creamy mushroom sauce). Real ales are perfect (as are all beers as Phillip (landlord) has all new pipes fitted from cellar) and now choice of three. Wife loved... More

Great to see this village pub back open. Puts Shadforth back on the map. Great food and a warm welcome. The bar is now well stocked, cask ales and an extensive wine list with landlord's suggestions. I hope it succeeds!

Second visit in less than a week after The Shadforth Plough reopened this month. Food was fabulous best I've had dining out in a very long time and I think it knocks spots off the local alternatives. Surroundings a little cavernous in the restaurant but food and service very good and we chose to eat in lounge bar the second... More

I arrived at about 7pm to a lovely warm and cosy area where one family were already sitting by the log burner. There was another area on the opposite side of the bar where there were quite a few other people either eating or drinking with a nice buzz about the place, I could see other people in the restaurant...
