Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The food here was great, incredibly fresh seafood and so many options to choose from. The service was impeccable from start to finish. Our waitress was so accommodating, ensuring every aspect of our dining experience was perfect.

We went here for evening dinner and it was excellent. Staff were superb. Jennifer did everything she could to get us a table, but in particular Catherine who served us was so attentive, welcoming, friendly and informative. All of the meals were very impressive, we...asked and it was Tracey and Achic in the kitchen. It’s not the cheapest restaurant in Paignton but we rate it and we’ll be returning for sure.More

Fantastic location, outstanding views and lovely food. Visited with friends for a hen party meal as part of a weekend away. We were seated comfortably with lots of space for a party of 11. Orders were taken before the visit so we could enjoy each...other's company while we waited for our food. We were allowed to decorate the tables and have some essential hen games between courses which was lovely. Staff were very friendly and helpful throughout. I had the lambchetta and parfait, both were outstanding. Really good tasty food, although the portion sizes were a little disappointing compared to others such as the chicken dishes, burgers and sticky toffee pudding. I imagine price was a factor in this but I also did pay more for my main so, swings and roundabouts. The view was out of this world. I've never been to a restaurant where you could see the sea from every single window before, even the bathroom window had a view over the water. We could have been in a boat. The staff were kind enough to split the bill for all of us which was a bit of a mission. Really grateful to them all for a lovely meal.More

Stunning location with great views, sadly let down by the food. We were told by the waitress they were a chef down as he had gone for training. As this was a known absence why wasn't this planned for? Very limited menu, everything from frozen,...(frozen cornish hake in Torbay!) long wait for main courses. Fake smoke grill marks on dry chicken, little to no sauce and cheap salty bacon, covered up by too much cheese. Salad main was basically a plate of lettuce, pies and portion sizes very small. Waitresses did a good job. Hopefully this was just an off night but will be very reluctant to come again.More

There was quite a long wait for food which in fairness didn't really bother me as we were out for the evening and sat and had a drink with a nice view across the bay. Myself and my wife were disappointed with the food, I...had mackerel starter which was over cooked and had quite a lot of bones in. My wife ordered squid but initially scampi came so she waited a further 15 mins for the squid to arrive, when it did arrive it was evident that is was frozen and not fresh, not very tasty and was quite tough. My wife ordered the burger which she enjoyed, I had scampi which was average tbh. Drinks were spot on and staff were really good so maybe my score of poor is a little harsh but I have based this on the quality of the food. Thought it was a bit pricey for what we got in terms of the food. Excellent location with lovely views out to sea.More

This is part of the st. Austell chain but they really seem to champion the local ( in this case west county) produce in a way no other brewery chain seems to. And it shows - the quality of the food and drink on offer...is of a true gastropub with skill required in preparation and presentation. The staff were friendly, polite and accommodating. The venue is stylish and well maintained. Simply cannot fault and hope it goes from strength to strength - a true jewel in PaigntonMore
