Went in at about midday yesterday with my girlfriend and we had slightly missed breakfast fry up cut off time. We both really fancied a breakfast, but realised it was too late. At the bottom of menu, it said they were flexible so please ask. We asked and they weren't flexible, but it was worth a try. The food was... More

Catch. A. Grip. Nothing against the man, but I believe I was the only person working who knew who he was, and I didn't serve him! We always aim to be flexible, but sometimes (for example during half term when it's incredibly busy) we are unable to serve a fry during lunch - it takes up too many rings on... More

A few years since we last visited here but had coffee and a cinnamon scone on Saturday morning. The coffee was ok but maybe a smaller cup than elsewhere and not sure if the cinnamon accompaniment is best described as a bun or scone. It's certainly a different texture than it used to be and very sweet and I think... More

Hi there, thanks for your review! Our cinnamon scones are often called cinnamon buns by customers. We understand! It's an appearance vs taste dilemma. I suppose it qualifies more as a scone because of the ingredients. The most important thing for us is that our customers enjoy them, which in the vast majority of cases they do. However, I understand... More

The Baytree have rightly had a reputation for excellent cinamon scones. But alas thet can be inconsistent....and sometimes unrecognizable. My last visit mixed the worst of their offerings with a poor coffee. Worse was that when asked how I enjoyed my order, and having been honest in response, there was no action. So from a firm favourite to an avoid.

Food delicious, staff charming but a bit noisy for me! Plenty of other diners. Apparently afternoon tea come highly recommended.

This place is an absolute wee gem. Lured here many years ago by the legend of the cinnamon scone (of which there is no equal others try but fall far short ) this place never ceases to delight. The food is gorgeous, its as simple as that. One word of caution once you start sampling the menu you will be... More

Busy atmospheric little resto with good range of options. Chicken burger was a nice melange of flavours with chips

Whilst this restaurant is pleasant, it is not worthy of the hype. The food is very upmarket (...) and there is not a wide range. The wait for the food was long and yes, it was very busy, but this is no excuse. Very overpriced for what we got. However the scones were good!

Went for a Friday night dinner, having only ever gone for lunch. It was a LOT less busy, and the atmosphere was a bit flat, because of it... The bustle of the afternoon makes it cosier. It doesn't really transform into a romantic restaurant at night, it's the same café, with informal service. One starter of scallops was very tasty... More

Went for a long coastal walk and then into the Baytree for lunch. Greeted immediately and offered a choice of table. Ordered three pan-fried cod (me and my two sons) - really delicious - you should try it! Good fantastic - staff attentive and courteous without being overbearing and atmosphere was great Boys rounded off their meal with a warm... More

Popped in this morning for breakfast. Been before and it was ok. However, not today. Sausages looked and tasted liked the left over trimmings from Christmas dinner and my egg had lost its yolk and was quite watery. The mushrooms were shrivelled and dry. Don't know if the wheaten bread was fried or toasted, but it was as hard as... More
