Good friendly service and probably at the age of 73 the best fried fish I have ever eaten and very reasonably priced. We’re I not a visitor it would be my weekly go to eatery . The option to sit in a great bonus.

We had a takeaway from here over the May Bank Holiday - the food was hot and tasty although the beans and gravy pots were quite small for what they cost. Seems very popular and well located in the centre of Shanklin Old Village -...we certainly enjoyed it and would return when next in the area.More

Ordered online, chose my time to collect. Ready on arrival but clearly not sitting there for long as still hot and crispy batter on the fish and chips, not soggy at all. 5/5 very happy

When we are on holiday by the sea we always try to have a chip shop fish 'n chip supper and as our hotel was a couple of hundred yards from the Happy Haddock we called in one evening. It was a bit nippy outside...that evening and so we ate in the shop. The food was lovely. The chips were, I reckon, better than any other chip shop chips I have tasted in a long time. The fish was great with crunchy batter and lovely, white, crumbly flesh. I just wish I had had the courage to find out what a "baked bean fritter" is!More

Great tasting Cod& chips. Couldn't wait to take them home so sat in the car and ate them. First try since it changed hands and was pleasantly surprised how good they still are

Late, wet night, looking for a hot meal in a once vibrant food area of Shanklin - hardly any places left to eat and those that are left are expensive. The warmth, smell and customers eating in - pulled us in. Great value they did...a family meal of two large fish and chips - two Kids sausage and chips and drinks, curry sauce and mushy peas for £22.00. Amazing. Not Greasy and so tasty - like chips should be. They even did Gluten Free - I did not realise until after I had ordered - but if we go back will order GF. Staff , warm welcoming and friendly. Highly recommend for a visit.More

Lovely fresh fish and chips. Not greasy and sensible portion size. The staff were polite and helpful. Well, worth a visit when exploring the old part of Shanklin. Parking is available in a carpark across the road from the The Happy Haddock.

Great gluten free fish and chips! Ring beforehand to place your order. Fresh, light and crispy with good amount of fish. Delicious! The regular fish and chips was equally tasty.

What a lovely place! We were attracted by the family meal deal 2 adult and 2 children Fish & Chips for £22 is great value for money. The place was clean and the attendants friendly and even when we paid for an extra ketchup we...got more than one sachet which surprised us. The food was perfect, Piping hot fish and crispy batter with fresh potatoes. That’s all you need but my wife still wanted some mushy peas and gravy like when she is up North.More

Nice to see a fish and chip shop open on a Monday evening. It was busy but was surprised how quickly we were served our food. Chips nice and fish was fresh and crispy batter. I thought it was good value for money, two cod...and one large chips around £17 more than enough for two people.More
