Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Having visited the Blenheim several years each time we have visited the IOW and found it a friendly pub, we decided to pay a visit during our recent stay in Shanklin. We arrived in Ventnor a bit early and when my companion saw a lady...outside talking to someone (not the landlady) he asked what time they would be opening - it was 11.55am and they open at twelve- he was told "when we are ready as we are having a business meting" quite abruptly. When we were allowed in the Barmaid served a local before us and she could not even raise a smile. The Landlady was in the back bar and did not even acknowledge us. Needless to say we won't be bothering to go out of out way to visit this pub again.More

The pub clearly has a good group of regulars given how everyone seemed to know each other, but we were made very welcome as holidaymakers looking for a meal. Although they do not have a kids menu, they offered to adapt some of the dishes...for our 6 year old if we wanted eg make up a smaller portion or miss out an element he didn't like. The food was good; in fact my wife said her pie was the best meal she'd had in our whole holiday so far. Recommended.More

Thank you so much for your lovely review. We do try to cater for all customers, big and small! The pies seem to be very popular with a lot of people. Thank you again!

Great pub with a wide range of food options and a wonderful specials board. Found this place whilst wandering around the area, not really knowing what to do for the next few hours and we stumbled into The Blenheim. Quiet and small with a few...of the locals situated at the bar - we found ourselves a table and got served by a lovely lady - whose name I can't remember. She was very accommodating and filling us with all sorts of knowledge and other places to go whilst in Ventnor. The food was great albeit a little slow for whatever reason, not that we minded because we were on holiday and it was nice to just take everything in for a bit. But I would highly recommend this pub if you are in the area and in need of food and watering.More

Loved this authentic pub. Six of us for dinner and all of our meals were delicious, especially the local sausage/mash/Yorkshire pudding. Terrific desserts too. Thank you!

Fabulous little pub in the heart of Ventnor. Awesome atmosphere and we felt very welcome. Stayed locally for a couple of nights and this was our 'local'. Great booze, and the girl behind the bar was lovely, told us about lots of places to visit.

A Little bit unprepossessing when we first went in, we thought it was a locals only kind of pub. It’s small but once we looked at the menu, blimey this is incredible. Not just standard pub grub either, this could rival the big chains and...give them a run for their money in terms of freshness, value and quality. And quantity! I had a fried halloumi starter, at least a dozen pieces all totally delicious, followed by liver and bacon (thank you Alison, the classics live on) and it wasn’t just one tired piece either. Two big pieces of liver and three rashers of bacon, a huge mound of fluffy, buttery mash and lashings of onion gravy. I was in heaven and only gutted that I didn’t have room for lemon meringue pie. This place may look a little jaded but the food is fantastic - and amazingly good value too. What a find.More
