I have wines ,dined ,stayed and parties in what is now my absolute favourite hotel Believe me I have travelled the world and stayed in many wonderful hotels but this hotel is gloriously shabby chique and amazingly relaxing. The food is always divine and any event that I have attended is seemingly effortlessly well organised If you are looking for... More

We tried the tasting menu with the wine flight as it was a special occasion. The Royal lived up to its reputation. We will be back

Outside of London, the meal I ate on my visit to the royal hotel, was by far the best I've ever been served from a hotel. Great flavours and innovative. I'm surprised that the restaurant doesnt have a Michelin star. Try it and you wont be dissappointed.

Went here for cream tea between Christmas and New Year - very indulgent and enjoyable although it was rather light on sandwich and heavy on cake. There were just four sandwich fingers each and of course the necessary scones, jam and cream (which were devine) but we all would have preferred more fingers and less of the myriad of cakes.

The enjoyment begins before you book, as the Hotel advertises that it has never not been in the Michelin guide ever since the guide began! And eating at the classically peaceful Appledurcombe Restaurant does not disappoint. We were shown to our table under the chandeliers by friendly waiters who catered to our every need. The delicate "fine dining" courses were... More

We booked here for a birthday treat before Christmas. On arrival the Christmas lights, trees and decorations looked magical in the dark. The staff were welcoming and took time to chat with us. Our dinners were quite simply delicious, the wine excellent value. The F&B Manager Iolandin invited us into the kitchen to meet Steve Harris the Head Chef, what... More
