Second time at True Food Kitchen with friends for dinner. I was a touch apprehensive as I was wowed by tempura lobster last time we came here more than a year ago - it was going to take some beating. Fortunately, I needn't have worried!...My husband had the steak while I had the special yellow thai curry with seafood. Both meals were exquisite... my mouth is actually watering now as I recall the flavours. I am a fan of spice and the curry had the perfect hit without overpowering the flavour. Service was brilliantly executed with perfectly timed check-ins and drink refills. We opted to save space for dessert over starters and that was indeed a very smart move. Husband had sticky toffee pudding which he has spoken about every day since out visit - while I shared the doughnuts and peanut roulade with my friend. Just perfection and so grateful to have this close to home. A must visit for a meal to remember on the Isle of Wight.More

Lucky to get a table here short notice and were so glad we did! Had the best meal, everything was delicious including the kids menu. Wonderful food with various interesting taste combinations. All well presented by helpful staff. The chocolate fondant sponge with blood orange sorbet was the perfect end to a perfect meal. The tables are quite close together but the room is small so cannot be avoided. I...would highly recommend a visit. Book first.More

As we were staying in Ventnor, I wanted to find a good restaurant to eat in within walking distance. The True Food Kitchen did not disappoint. It seats about 20 people so you have to book in advance. The food - Asian themed - was...incredible. My mum said the trio of prawns as an entree was the best she had ever eaten. Myself being a vegetarian, it was a delight to have inventive delicious food to choose from - the Massaman curry with Tempura Vegetables was the highlight for me. There was a very relaxed, friendly atmosphere, the staff were exceptionally welcoming and happy to help in any way. A true gem to be found on a High Street.More

Our second visit after a stunning taster menu last year. This time was fish of the day. Tempura Monkfish and fresh Dorset tuna was outstanding after wonderful small plates. Sampling the food in the True Food Kitchen was a relevation and highlight of our stay in Ventnor. The best food we had eaten for some time (surpassing in our view the food in any of Ventnor's other eateries), beautiful presentation, wonderful mix of flavours,...friendly service and good atmosphere. We wanted to come back every night as nothing else compared with the dishes we had here: from pan-fried catch of the day - a very generous portion of monkfish for example - accompanied by the fantastic flavours of the Asian slaw and the fried potatoes with miso aioli to our feast on the last night: seared scallops with jambon and miso hash, followed by tempura lobster.
