Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Best coffee & cake we have found on the island. The carrot cake was delicious. We will be back for lunch next time.

We look forward to visiting this cafe most weeks. The staff are friendly and both the coffee and hot chocolate are excellent but above all the cakes are truly amazing. You will not find better anywhere else on the Island.

Somewhere we go when ever we are in Port St. Mary. Excellent cakes and snacks. The coffee is absolutely delicious, one of my favourite places, especially on a sunny day as you can sit outside viewing the bay.

Been to the coffeehouse several times and always delighted with the service and speediness! Stopped and got my first takeaway flat white and lemon cake - reasonably priced and stunning. Will be returning! Would love if it opened earlier to collect a coffee on the...way to work :)More

I had arrived in Port Erin by train, and decided to use the station cafe. Due to a failure to process my order, after 25 minutes I left with a refund and rather hungry. With a bus outside heading to Port St Mary, I jumped...on, and hoped their would be a decent cafe in this tiny town serving late lunches. Located on a corner of a parade of shops, is the corner house cafe. The first thing that greeted me was the delicious smell of fresh baking. The two chaps behind the counter gave me a warm hello, and suggested a try the cheese and leek quiche that had come out of the oven only 5 minutes earlier. My absolutely scrummy quiche came with potato salad, 3 bean salad, a beet slaw, and leaves. 10 out of 10 for a healthy lush lunch! Whilst eating, their was a steady stream of customers both eating in, but also buying bakery products to takeaway, and they all seemed to be local residents. A good sign of quality. This was one of my most favourite meals during my 4 night stay on the island.More

My husband made the mistake of just going by ratings. Food may be good but we called in for a coffee and unfortunately were disappointed. Tasteless and very average.

This was my first visit although I've gone past several times on my last two holidays. I had the best courgette and lemon cake I've had and tried the date and lime tea which I would definitely have again (if a supplier can be found)....The owner was friendly and helpful and the view beautiful. It was such good value for money as well. Will definitely go back,More

I'd estimate that around two years ago Cornerhouse Coffee emerged from the ashes of Smokey Joe's. I initially feared that we were perhaps dealing with cursed ground and that this new venture was doomed to fail. I had been hoping for a good coffee shop...to open in my home town for a long time and so I was determined to support it. I visited a few weeks after it first opened it's doors and found an atmosphere akin to the town it calls and I call home. A potent mixture of a wonderfully quaint feel and genuine staff with good character about them. There's no hint of the typical sterile feel that you might find in Starbucks, Costa and other coffee chains. Sure, I may have had a few better coffees in my life but I have consistently enjoyed the coffee at the Cornerhouse with the cappuccino now a firm favourite of mine. The cakes on offer never disappoint. Today I tried a new addition, the ginger plait. Gorgeously crumbly with a delightful chew to it. Something I would highly recommend to all. Arguably the best feature of the Cornerhouse is it's location; perfectly situated overlooking Chapel beach. It's the perfect pit stop for anyone winding down after stomping about the coastal hills. In addition, whether it's a beautiful summer's day or a 'hoolie' is blowing outside, the view is a nice bonus. For anyone in search of a good coffee from even better people, visit the Cornerhouse.More

Visited a few times during my stay in Port St Mary. Staff are friendly, really helpful... and more importantly the bacon bap is delicious! Coffee was exactly to my liking (it was a flat white I had), and the place was always popular with the...locals, definitely a good sign! Always worth a visit :)More

Great place to stop for coffee/tea and a sandwich and/or cake - being greedy, I had both! A wonderful view as you sip and munch through the excellent fare provided - I even liked the background music!
