You won't go wrong on a Saturday evening if you want to take the older kids (20+) for dinner at Portofino. Great Tables, Great Ambiance, Great Food, Great Service. The one important point I noticed were the tables had enough space to enable you to feel that you were within your own space. Get your table booked, you won't go... More

Came here for a works Christmas do and the food was fantastic! I had the cod for main and it tasted so fresh and delicious. I heard only good things from other people. Other flaw was that the baileys creme brûlée just tasted like coffee rather than baileys. Also the dance floor was a mirror so awkward for any girls... More

Superb food, great service in a truly lovely setting. Compared to anything else in Douglas it is out in front by a country mile.

I have recently eaten here twice, for lunch and dinner. Both times I had a really lovely meal and a glass of wine. The restaurant is modern and purpose built with a nice bright aspect down the river in Douglas. It works particularly well during the daytime as it enhances the feling of smart efficiency. The food was excellent and... More

Restaurant looks fabulous wonderful setting but that is about it. Service is poor, and the food is average at best. A real shame as it has great potentail.

Whilst staying with relatives on the island we were treated to an evening meal. The waiting staff were all friendly, however three of our party ordered Rib-eye steak which turned out to be very tough and tasteless. No one came to ask if our meal was OK and when a complaint was made we were told "its the first time... More

This was a business trip. A relatively quiet Wednesday evening. All the nearby seafood restaurants were full, this place wasn't. That should have alerted us to something. On the plus side the chef was the most friendly person in sight, he recommended the lamb, and seemed genuinely interested in us. To be met then by a supercilious waiter, or was... More

Such a shame restaurant is beautiful, with a lovely outlook, but my lamb wellington had little flavour. The cheese soufflé was nice. Waiting staff very attentive, but the sommelier was not particularly friendly or helpful. My wife had the fish but it had been frozen! Such a shame because the location is nice and the staff were really trying.

Having read many of the excellent reviews for this restaurant I was excited to visit with my sister and mum on a girls weekend away. Whilst the food was excellent and the waitresses helpful and attentive I have to say the whole evening was marred by the rude sommelier. We weren't provided with a wine list to start with so...
