Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Opting for a late lunch, we were surprised many restaurants were closing at 2:30. The Bridge is open from lunchtime to late evening serving delicious Mexican food. My Pollo Pimenton fajita was excellent as was my wife’s enchilada. Worth a re-visit

Surprised to see that The Bridge now has a Mexican menu, but the food was great - when eventually it arrived. Sitting outside in the sun made the wait tolerable. There was a warning note that the kitchen was short staffed so we ordered starters as well as mains. Unfortunately, everything arrived together after an hour’s wait.

We visited here twice while in Douglas and were impressed both times. First time was for a couple of drinks, where we sat outside on the quayside. Very relaxing. Our second visit was for drinks and snacks. We chose mango chilli chicken and masala fries. Large helpings and tasty good value food. Good friendly service. Recommended.

Tasty good value fresh Mexican food served by really friendly staff who make amazing cocktails. Really liked this quirky fun place with the friendliest staff around.

Dropped in last Saturday night, only people in the restaurant.
We had nachos to start, don’t get the large nachos as the portions are massive.
I then had the pollo almalfi, huge bowl and beautifully prepared.
Staff are bright, funny and very welcoming.
It’s going to be my new go to place when I move to the island in January.
Oh and to top it all it’s very reasonably priced.

Hi there kartings1
Thank you for taking the time to contact us regarding your recent visit to The Bridge, although I am disappointed to learn of your experience.
Here at The Bridge, we go to great lengths to ensure all our meals are delicious, from using the freshest of ingredients to cooking every dish to order, and our food is one aspect that we are complimented on the most. With this in mind, I am sorry to hear your soup wasn't served hot, your fish was overdone and your wife's curry did not meet her expectations. Therefore, I would be grateful if you could email me at feedback@hb.im with the date and time of your visit so we can look into this further.
Kind regards

Called into the Bridge yesterday for lunch. It did not seem to be busy but my friend and I were left standing at the bar counter for ages. A waitress arrived and went behind the bar to tot up something on the till; we asked if we could have the gluten free menu (as was advertised on the general menu at the bottom) and she said she would be with us shortly. We waited and waited, as did another customer who was trying to pay his bill, nobody arrived but then the waitress appeared again, this time to go behind the bar to prepare some drinks for another customer table. Once again we asked to see the Gluten free menu and she told us she would get it soon. The other gentleman at the bar asked if he could pay his bill and he was also told "I will be back soon" - well we waited and we waited .... the other customer who was trying to pay his bill walked out and left the money inside his menu on the bar. Then another girl appeared - the chef - yippee .... maybe we would be able to see the gluten free menu; she then casually told us that they did not have a gluten free menu (even though it was advertised on the bottom of the general menu) - the wording said "ask to see our gluten/allergy menu), she told us just to choose what we wanted and she would tell us if it was gluten/allergy free. She then disappeared and the waitress came back and went behind the bar and started totting things up on the till, but she looked confused and did not seem to know what she was doing. Again we were ignored, and so was the money which the other customer had left. I asked for chicken and chips but she said "I will be with you soon" - well, after the wait of 20 minutes or so my friend and I just walked out and wont be going back. Lack of staff seemed to be a problem and the restaurant seemed really quiet. The only staff members we seen were the chef who briefly passed through and the inexperienced girl who seemed to be responsible for the bar, the food ordering, serving the meals, serving the drinks and taking the payments. Dreadful experience.

A really nice, welcoming place with tasty, straight forward food. For most of our meal we were the only people in (this was midweek and very early evening as we have small kids) but there was still a nice atmosphere probably thanks to the staff who were friendly, helpful and happy. The pizzas were fresh and generous in size and toppings, salad was good as were the garlic dough balls. They also accommodated a picky eater’s pasta request. Some local Okeef’s beer on tap was very good too. It’s in a nice setting right on North quay (easy car park only a minute away on the opposite side, South quay). We would certainly go again if in the Isle of Man.

We went on a Monday night, pizza was great, it was pretty quiet and we were the only table in the restaurant. Our waitress eventually sat with her friends, having tea, not sure why they felt they needed to sit right next to us when the whole restaurant was empty. Another waiter took over our table and he was pretty slow and we had to call him for attention. Would definitely go back for the pizza though, and would just sit on the other side of the restaurant or take away.

On our first night in Douglas, we decided to have a walk around down on the promenade. We took in the sights, took some pictures, and ended up on North Quay. We were getting hungry and had been looking at menu's, and finding things a little pricey! We ended up here in The Bridge. Met by a cheery barmaid, who took us to a table, took our order, and then brought us over 2 glorious beers. In a little while our pizzas and garlic bread turned up. I can honestly say, I was glad we only ordered 2 small pizzas, because I think we might still have been there now eating them! The staff were very attentive, prompt, polite and talkative. Very friendly in fact. The back-ground music, just that. The place was very clean, and the toilets were clean too! The beer was as I like it good and cold. A very enjoyable meal was washed down by some very tasty beer and for a good price too! So good in fact, we went back on our second night, and was greeted like we were regulars! A definite must if in Douglas!

Called for a drink and ended up staying for a meal as it was very dog friendly as well as being friendly to customers. A limited menu but what we had was very good and served well. Dogs only allowed in the bar area but we returned another night and ate in the restaurant. The lasagna was excellent but beware they are large portions though half portions are available
