Highly recommended place to eat Sunday lunch. The food was delicious and cannot fault the food. Excellent value for money. The pork was succulent and my partner had the lamb which was tender.

A pleasant, welcoming pub in the pleasant village of Holystone, just outside of Whitley Bay. it is very much a drinking pub with good food, rather than a bistro, but the Sunday lunch was excellent. The beef brisket was meltingly good and the veggies were...perfectly al-dente. Definitely recommended.More

We went for Sunday lunch. Staff were friendly and we were shown to our table quickly. Drinks order was taken quickly and we didn't wait too long for staff to take our order. The only reason I have given 4 stars is that I didn't...feel there was enough separate vegetables for the four of us and a child as the table next to us for two had the same amount of vegetables for them. We will be back though.More

Wow. A superb place for Sunday lunch. I had the beef and Dave the mixed meats. I watched them preparing dinners through the hatch and it was put together by each chef as if it was a work of art. The food was beautiful. Roast...parsnip, roast carrot and roast potatoes, mashed potato, mashed swede and then roast beetroot, butternut squash, red onion, yorky and stuffing. Lots of extra gravy provided. Staff were super friendly. The only down side was that the table wasn't cleared 45 minutes later when we left. I won't lose sleep over it though and they won't lose stars eitherMore

Drove past on few occasions, not really noticed until last week & my only disappointment is me not using here sooner! What can I say, from calling in off chance this the first time of using today the staff were welcoming / friendly, the Sunday...lunch, was faultless! The Meat cooked perfect. Exceptional portions , the quality was as good, price you couldn’t even fault. I can be quite fussy, when comes to quality vs price but can hand on heart not fault anything. Locals friendly too. The overall first and lasting impressions were first class. Have already booked up to come back again. Thank you. Please pass on comments to the team.More

Excellent lunch today. Belly Pork for him and Steak and Mushroom Pie for me followed by apple crumble and ice cream to share for pudding. Sat in the garden at the front but there is more seating inside, plus courtyard and Sports Bar to the...rear. Dog friendly as well.More

My husband and I called in at lunchtime. The food was very nice as was the pub. The service wasn’t good. We had the meals before we received the cutlery. The cruet was greasy with a bit of food stuck on it. I had to...ask for apple sauce as we weren’t asked if we wanted any other sauces etc as is usual. When we paid for our meals we were asked about them. We told the woman what we weren’t happy about and she was very gracious. She didn’t charge us for one of our drinks and rounded down the bill. I’m hoping that this was a blip in their normal hospitality according to other reviews so we’ll happily visit again.More

The staff are so accommodating, friendly & efficient. The food was amazing. The chef was very responsive. When we asked if something could be done without chilli, he was more than happy to oblige. We asked for medium rare steaks & they were cooked to...perfection & melted in the mouth. Just as well we were very hungry as the portions a very generous. The pub was very comfortable with lovely music. All in all a lovely evening. So much so, we have made another booking. Thank you.More

Rang ahead as had my 92 year old father who has walking difficulties with us . Also we had 2 dogs. When we arrived 2 members of staff came out to greet us and they had already set up a ramp at the front entrance....Never have we experienced a welcome like that before. Because we had the dogs we had to sit in the separate sports bar which was a bit of a trek for my dad but again the girls came with us , putting heaters on as it was chilly. They made us so welcome. The food did not disappoint either, only mistake I made was ordering mash instead of their delicious proper chips . Will definitely be backMore
