Surprisingly good

We booked this restaurant after being cancelled by another restaurant (for a busy bank holiday) so we were grateful that they could fit us in (party of 8 - 4 adults, 4 children) The menu is classic Indian. It took a while but it was worth the wait as the food was delicious. The children were happy with their chicken tikka and we enjoyed a range of curry, tikka masalla, mixed grill and side orders. Staff were friendly and efficient. Only point to note is that they don’t serve alcohol, only soft drinks - so you can bring your own wine and beer (or pop to the local Tesco’s)

We had a takeaway tonight

We had a takeaway tonight and it was, without a doubt, the best we have had for a long time. The curries were great and the rices were superb! We live in Bembridge so we rang at 4.30 and asked if they could cook it whilst we shopped and they produced everything by 5.15pm. Thoroughly recommended.

We have been visiting this restaurant for years as we live 10 mins away. In all that time we have never had a bad meal. The food is always excellent, the service is always good and being able to take your own alcaholic drinks makes it a very affordable night out. We have several family members who visit us and the first thing they ask is for us to book a table and we all have a great evening. This is an excellent restaurant and if you dont visit you are really missing out.

Good curry, tender chicken

Read various reviews of different curry houses on the island to visit whilst on holiday here. Good service and good food. The chicken was really tender and just the right amount portion wise. There is a pay and display car park at the rear also, which is good if you are travelling by car.

The best home delivery Indian meal

Treated ourselves tonight with a lockdown home delivery Indian meal, and can honestly say it was probably the best Indian meal we’ve ever had. I’m usually dubious about ordering a lamb curry, but it was lovely big pieces of tender lamb beautifully cooked, hubby’s chicken was also delicious. All delivered on time and piping hot. Look forward to better times when we can visit this fabulous restaurant.

This is now our 'go to' Indian

After our local Indian closed down I searched reviews for a replacement. This restaurant had great reviews so I thought I'd give it a go. I'm so glad I did as it's now our go to on the Island. We have had several meals (takeaway) and it's been consistently great. The staff are very friendly both on the phone and in person, the food is all present and correct (this seems to be an issue on the Island with missing items) and tastes amazing! They have honey chicken on the menu, which I don't think any other Indian on the Island does. We live too far for delivery so go and pick up, using the car park behind the restaurant and nipping through the alley way. They are always on time and never disappoint, so worth the effort of the extra distance over places that are much closer. I won't go anywhere else now and nor will others that have tried this place with us.

On holiday fancied an Indian meal.

We were greeted by a pleasent young man who showed us to our seats. He continued to look after us through our stay very friendly and attentive. We ordered our drinks, which were soft drinks as they aren't licensed but I believe you can take your own alcohol. I had the butter chicken and my husband had lamb jalfrezi. We both had rice and shared the naan bread. It all arrived piping hot and the plates were hot too which makes such a difference. All the food was cooked to perfection absolutely delicious. Highly recommend this Indian restaurant. If I lived on the island I would be a regular.

Probably the worst Indian meal I have ever had. Chicken picked off the bone not a bit of breast in the whole meal. Under cooked vegetables rock hard tasteless onion baihji . Will definitely not be eating there in the future.

Great food

We had a takeaway from here this week. Food was lovely and probably the hottest food we've ever had delivered. We're here on holiday, so can only compare to what we're used to at home. The naan breads were quite small, and the butter chicken was very different to any butter chicken we've ever had before. But it was all very tasty, and the driver was friendly. Would use again.

Lovely surprise

Found this little gem looking online for a few restaurants to book before our holiday. We have eaten at so many Indian restaurants in Derby Nottingham Yorkshire and London but I have to say I have never eaten anywhere that tastes this good. Beautiful clean flavours with plenty of fresh herbs. Great bread.... Best onion bhaji ever and bring your own alcohol.... we will definitely be back

We had a fantastic meal on Saturday evening. The best curry we have had in a long time.The service was good and the food was very authentic. They do not have a license yet so bring your own, but they do sell soft drinks. Cant wait to go back.

Best vindaloo

Tonight I bought a chicken vindaloo from Haldi that was the best I have ever eaten. The sauce was a beautiful red colour with the perfect oily surface that a good vindaloo should have. It was spiced to perfection with a good chili heat and comomex, toffy flavour after taste. 10 out of 10, would highly recommend.

One of the nicest takeaways I have ever had. We got a takeaway on a Saturday night. They were clearly very busy however the service was very quick and the food was delicious. Super tasty, also cater very well for vegetarians. Would recommend to anyone, 10/10 for food and service! Hats off to the chef! Will definitely be visiting again.

We loved Bay leaf takeaways previously, something for all the family, reliable delivery service and we looked forward to ordering each time. Unfortunately we were very disappointed! Took over 90 mins to arrive to our short distance away location. We gave the postcode (same as previous times) but it seems that along with address is no longer of use for their deliveries. Can’t understand why! A number of follow up calls just frustrated us even more! Such a pity we won’t return! Even greater pity that we paid over 80 pounds for this!
