I was very excited to win a competition on Facebook for a four course taster menu at Thomas Carr in Ilfracombe. It is the best thing I’ve ever won and the best meal I’ve ever eaten ( and I think I’ve eaten in quite a...More

Took my 90 year old mother for a birthday treat. My mother got distressed . The staff were so lovely. The food was divine, I am a pescatarian and Thomas tweaked the menu for me so that I too could enjoy the amazing food. The...More

My partner and I dined here on one occasion. We both had the tasting menu which was very disappointing! The meat was tasteless, clearly under seasoned. The purées, sauces and all the swirls looked lovely and did taste nice on their own but did nothing...More

The Olive Room is one of the best restaurants I have ever eaten in, and I have dined at Le Manoir au Quart Saison in Oxfordshire. It is not cheap, but what is money when you get food of this quality. Thomas Carr performs miracles...More

We have been coming here since the restaurant opened 4 years ago, and this was by far the best food we have had here. It has been very interesting to see the development of the menu over this period. We had the 6 courses with...More

Back again and no drop in quality whatsoever - in fact the newly introduced wine flight was superb - each wine complimented each course magnificently. We are so lucky to have this wonderful restaurant locally and can't wait to go back. If having the paired...More

Beautiful food in a relaxed unpretentious setting. A must for lovers of seafood. We have visited the restaurant on a number of occasions and have never been disappointed. Not child friendly, good for teens who have an appreciation of fine food. Booking essential.

We had dinner here and loved every mouthful. The flavours were amazing. Every single course was delicious and we would certainly recommend it as a great place to eat.
