We had a cream tea for my son's birthday faith some friends here and it was absolutely delicious. Best scones I've ever had in England. Home made and very fresh. It was such a lovely place. Friendly staff and very cosy atmosphere. Will visit again.

Scones made fresh daily, best we had during our week in Devon (and we had quite few!) Plenty of jam and cream, lots of tea...excellent. Other diners' food looked good too, but we were there for a treat!!Staff very friendly, chatty and efficient. Great experience, highly recommended.

We regularly come to St. James Tea Room because we know we will have great service and wonderful food. The crab sandwiches on tasty, fresh granary bread complete with salad and crisps, plus a large, warm home made scone with lashings of cream and jam. what more could you ask for. Andy and Jenny are so welcoming and they make... More

My partner and I stumbled across this delightful tea room whilst in Ilfracombe today. I have a Gluten allergy and the owners were very helpful and we had a mini cream tea... absolutely lovely sat on their terrace which is warm and welcoming. We loved it so much we returned for our lunch and again we were not disappointed. I... More

Been visiting here for 20 years now. Sandwiches are always delicious with fresh home made bread and ample fillings and the cream teas are a must have. Always receive service with a smile and the prices haven't risen in years either. See you next time we are in Ilfracombe!

I have visited this tea room 2 to 4 times each year for a number of years and have never been disappointed. The sandwiches made by Jennie and served by Andy are all excellent as are the other items on the menu. The homemade cakes are particularly good and worth a visit on their own.

We were looking for some where to have a cup of tea after a long walk and a lot of places were closed or closing but we got a very friendly welcome here. It is always a good sign when the proprietor tells you what cakes they have made that day! He coped admirably with us all ordering and paying... More

Visited here today for a spot of lunch for 5 of us. Staff were really friendly and accommodating. Choice of sandwiches and light lunches were excellent. Food was freshly prepared with good size portions and delicious. Service was also excellent. Highly recommend the ploughmans, especially the mixed cheese and ham.
