Friendly staff (until I called regarding our food). I ordered a take away for my family which may I add come to nearly £100. The food was poor to say the least. Sweetcorn that tastes like a burnt omelette, How? The ribs seemed over cooked...and very dry. Noodles were hot and cold, even the veg was cold. The meat in the dishes tasted old or like it's been left out for a long time. The only thing that was ok was the boiler rice. And the list goes on with the poor quality of this establishment. I did call after all my family left roughly 80% of the food saying how bad it is. And the attitude and appalling customer service I got was shocking which brings me to why I'm writing this review. I don't like complaining as I've worked in the catering and hospitality industry for many years. However this cannot be accepted in my eyes. I wasn't implying for a refund just maybe an apology. Instead I got denial and arrogance with a touch of rudeness saying "I'll let the chef know". Shame on you which could be a fantastic place. Should have stopped when I saw only 4 maybe 5 tables on a Saturday night. Lesson learnt for me. I pledge to the public not to do the same as myself. All the food in the picture is now in the bin!More

Attended this restaurant for many years for this New Year celebration This was a by far a very very poor year We were served the dim sum ,soup and duck courses and ordered our mains which never arrived The waiting staff asked us to order...again as our order had not been processed We declined as it as getting very late and the staff could not say how long our mains would take We negotiated after several attempts a reduction on the bill including free drinks etc . However my long time friend who is Chinese herself was disappointed and let down by this chain of events and I felt that it If I’d had Not been assertive myself in all this they would have attempted to charge full price Too many excuses were made for poor service etc Not good enough really and sadly don't think we will go again Never again The staff were fully aware this was not up to standard and thought we would just accept poor standards Was too busy and not covid safe in my humble opinionMore

I moved to SOUTHPORT 2 years ago, and have tried LOTS of Chinese Restaurants and Take-Aways (as I love Chinese Food). BUT having visitors from Surrey for a few days, I decided on taking them for a nice Chinese Banquet. Well I could not have...chosen better than NEW CHINA CITY, The Banquet was Great Value for Hard Earned Money, The Waiter was Fantastic and has a Great sense of Humour (banging his head on every lampshade as he is so tall). The Lady in Charge was very attentive and ensured we were looked after well. The Food was out of this world, (NOT full of msg which is used so much these days, and is awful). THE Whole experience was a delight and very much appreciated by myself and my FRIENDS. Thank You NEW CHINA CITY, You will 100% be seeing us again Both for Dining in and looking forward to trying your takeaway service. I VERY strongly reccommend this Restaurant.More

Went here yesterday with my friends following a graduation ceremony. Great location in the heart of Southport town centre with lovely food (I had the sweet and sour chicken with prawn crackers and egg fried rice which was lovely), friendly and professional service from the...staff and great entertainment! Highly recommended!More

We have frequented this restaurant many times and it was a favourite before COVID and lockdown. This was our first visit since early 2020 and we are unlikely to return. The standard and quality of the food had deteriorated markedly. We left a large amount...of what we ordered as it was clear the preparation presentation and quality of the ingredients had slipped. The meat was not cut properly and was in large partially cut pieces and the vegetables were coarsely chopped. Crispy chilli beef was crispy but grey and in a coagulated batter with a thin watery sauce. There were very few cashews with the Kung po chicken. Service was efficient but inexperienced. Hope the present management take action quickly but the restaurants previous glowing reputation is in the balance judging from our visit.More

Went here for a lunch today. The food was nice although the fried rice was a little greasy and under seasoned. The service was a little clumsy but that provided a little entertainment in its own way. In terms of a lunchtime menu, I thought...this was great value. If the place was modernised a little it may attract more people but if you are looking for a good lunchtime meal then I don't think you will go far wrong hereMore

I went to order take out which consisted of vermicelli, ribs and chicken toast and I put everything in the car when I got up to my hotel I opened it up and it had oil dripping all in the bottom of the bag and...I complained and they basically stared arguing with me and insinuating I was lieing which is very unprofessional and the ribs were rock hard and the chicken toast had hardly any chicken in it was a waste of £32.00 I am disappointed in this chinese please avoid- what a wasteMore

Yes, New China City is open for takeaway and the food is excellent. The menu is on the website. I don't know if they deliver, we collected ours, but you could always ask when you order.

Not sure what time they op. Think they open lunchtime and evening. Would suggest phoning them to confirm.
